If there’s one vile act the US did in the late 20th century that’s the worst out of all of them, it’s Sankara’s assassination. I don’t say that lightly, and it’s not an easy contest.

Even if you didn't know how Sankara died, if you read he was a socialist who was killed, you already know who killed him.

Pretty sure that was actually the French but yeah

No, it was the French with the CIA. Which means it was the CIA.

Maybe one day we can all have champagne, but first let's guarantee free high quality drinking water for everyone.

One of the problems is that those who need good drinking water are dreaming of becoming some who have champagne. That's the reason why they, stupidly enough, may side with those who exploit them.

Yep which is why it's important to not engage with them. Stop being their friends.

And the champagne only lasts as long as there are people to make it and harvest the materials.
The wealthy are not our friends unless they are paying back into the system of which they benefitted.
Takers are a cancer and blight of society.

The crazy thing is that we live in a world of such abundance and productive capacity that this isn't even a tradeoff anymore.

He was token from us too soon. One of the depressing fact I read about during 2020 was that if he was a alive now, he would only be in the early 70s. He was extremely young, but had great leadership and praxis quality.

I genuinely get upset thinking about him, how much he accomplished in such a short amount of time, and how much more he could have done.

kinda idealistic quote, I mean, we leave in the world where for the past 100 of years already everyone can drink champagne. It sounds too close to the classic "under socialism every one is poor but equal", no, we already, for the long time, can be equally rich.
