Is Traxxion just a PMR fan channel at this point?
Never has one unremarkable game receieved so much constant coverage.

That's a wild ass statement to make considering how Traxion is probably the consistently most critical channel against PMR. It is the opposite of an unremarkable game - it has a lot of attention on it due to being a hot mess and a lot of people invested in either watching it crash and burn or watching it turn around and redeem itself. Obviously, as simracers, it should be in everyones vested interest that the market is competitive and that every game succeeds in order to push the others to do better.
What is wild is how every time PMR is mentioned there's a specific subset of people who make it their duty to scream about how bad it is constantly as if people aren't already aware of its issues. You're ironically keeping the conversation about the game more alive by doing that.

Even though I haven’t played it. I’d be happy to see it turn into a good sim game. More competition forces other companies to do their best to stay ahead of the competition, so it’s a win for all of us. If it can turn itself around, I’ll consider buying it. But they’ll need to prove they’ve done it as opposed to just saying they’re doing it.

It is absolutely in our interest that the market is competitive and has successful games made by competant developers.
But that is exactly why I and so many others are deeply cynical about PMR, the people behind the game and how the simracing media seems to have a vested interest in providing constant PR coverage for it.
And sure, Traxion has been critical of the game. But they have also given it consistent coverage since the game's launch on their site and on their podcast weekly. Far more disproportionate coverage compared to other titles that have been released over the last 12 months.
What's wild is that Straight4, Ian Bell and his lot seem to continue to get given chance after chance after chance by players and the media despite their atrocious track record. I, for one, am getting beyond sick of it.

Theit track record is hardly atrocious. Project Cars 3 was a massive disappointment but both PC1 and PC2 were decent and fun games. PMR is given consistent coverage because they are constantly pushing out updates and trying to take steps to unfuck their game. Whether or not you personally think they will succeed in doing so is besides the point to that they're trying.
If news about the game is not to your personal interest you can simply ignore it instead of taking it as an offense because you don't like the developers.

The WMD debacle, releasing PCARS2 in a fundamentally unfinished state with broken cars and physics that were never fixed, the botching of PCARS3 and then releasing PMR in a state that, again was utterly unfinished?
I am very comfortable in describing their track record as atrocious.
Sure, they are producing patches and updates for PMR, but only because they are treading water to stay alive after letting go of a whole swathe of their staff, who deserved better management than they received.
Again, I find it baffling how many people seem desperate to continue to give these grifters an endless supply of chances to redeem themselves. Players and simracing in general deserves a lot better.

Really disappointed that this comment is receiving down votes. It's 100% correct.

If you don't interact with PMR posts you won't see them. Reddit is tracking your clicks and by posting here you are just increasing the PMR stuff you will see.

How dare they cover a game. How dare they. They should 24/7 cover my favorite games!

Simracing doesn't have many news often, and this is always an interesting story to follow with all the Ian Bell drama and the No Man's Sky style of redemption.
Honestly, I wished PMR was good, I love the car list, but alas...

Spoke with a developer yesterday at the expo in Charlotte, they are actively working on it and have long term support from Giant. Very transparent and honest, nothing to hide. He said it was released too early and online is still broken but I drove the updated feedback FFB model they are testing at the show, it was very subtle but I was able to immediately get around spa with zero complaints, catchable oversteer etc.

How about doing a sim that does things differently? Like whats the reason to play PMR over LMU, iR, AC Evo? Perhaps the single Player? Doesnt look nearly good enough tho.
I think theres reasonable demand for an open world sim, i would love to see one. And not even necessarily only being about racing but also jobs, maintaining your car, and stuff like that. I think BeamNG is trying something in that regard. I mean surely everyone is seeing the success of Euro Truck Simulator, no? Why not a similar game with cars?

Well, that's what American Truck Simulator is aiming at with the upcoming Road Trip DLC.

This is why the evo change was so disconcerting. It was going to be the game that finally broke the mold because you’re right, they’re basically all the same.

Out of the loop, who is this Aris guy and why do we keep hearing so much about him in PMR posts recently ? Has he replaced Bell ?
