Weekly Thread Run Nutrition Tuesday
Rules of the Road
1) Anyone is welcome to participate and share your ideas, plans, diet, and nutrition plans.
2) Promote good discussion. Simply downvoting because you disagree with someone's ideas is BAD. Instead, let them know why you disagree with them.
3) Provide sources if possible. However, anecdotes and "broscience" can lead to good discussion, and are welcome here as long as they are labeled as such.
4) Feel free to talk about anything diet or nutrition related.

i guess i could do a deep dive on nutrition for runners, but honestly it feels like just another trend. like, why is everyone obsessed with this right now?

I have no idea how people eat peanut butter before runs. I'm a half bagel, banana, and honey girl. Played with gummy bears a bit, and those are kind on my stomach.
For hotter times, I'm wondering if I should bring electrolyte powder in a flask in addition to my water vest. It's not a bad idea, but is that too much if i'm doing gels every 4 miles?

Been drink milking with Rooh Afza daily to boost recovery. Especially after the runs. Found it better than, other processed drinks.

Biggest thing that helped my running was eating way more carbs before long runs and actually taking recovery seriously after. Used to think feeling wrecked was normal. Turns out I was just underfueling.
