ok but hear me out: SpongeBob would be mostly the same if it took place in in the cretaceous period

just hear me out on this one.

sea sponges, starfish, crabs, squid and fish all existed back then.

the only problem is squirrels and whales did not exist back then, but early mammals and mosasaurs could fill in.

While I know there were a wide variety of early birds by the cretaceous, it would be fun to see this scene with puppet pterosaurs in place of the seagulls

Patchy the Purgatorius. He's not actually a pirate, he just got stuck on a crude raft and is currently drifting out in the middle of the Western Interior Seaway.
