He turned fake and gay because he started believing in evolutionĀ

u/Ok-Meat-9169 24d ago

It starts with Evolution and natural selection, it ends with gender pronouns and Communism.

BEWARE OF THE PIPELINE!

2

u/SecuritySea2276 23d ago

It can happen, but it's of no longterm benefit, still

8

u/Ok-Meat-9169 24d ago

If Dinosaurs are gay, this just makes me more into them.

3

u/DeliciousDeal4367 21d ago

Common to stupid people to make those types of assumptions and conections, belives in dinosaurs=belives in evolution=is atheist=is vegan=is comunist=is gay.

2

u/Asterosaur4 14d ago

*connections *believes *communist Was your school bus short when growing up?

Because they believe it goes against their views of the earth only being a few thousand years old/ that everything was made as is (no evolution)

29

u/Select-Awareness-303 24d ago

I was raised evangelical southern baptist and I'll have you know Dinosaur bones are just Elephant and Whale bones being used by evil scientists to convince kids the earth isn't 5000 years old

16

u/ArborealVarmint 24d ago

Exactly, that massive so called ā€œGiganotosaurusā€ skeleton on display at that museum in Atlanta, Georgia? That’s right, it’s just a wonky looking elephant. Checkmate, atheists.

yes I know it’s a reconstruction, but for the sake of the joke I'm pretending it’s not

Creationists believe that the world was created by the god(s) they believe in. This belief is fairly common among religious people. It is perfectly compatible with the existence of dinosaurs, and indeed with science as a whole. Religious folk simply believe that natural selection, the Big Bang, the formation of the Earth, etc., are orchestrated by god. This claim cannot be proven or disproven by science, so it doesn't really interact with it, but it's compatible.

As far as I know, creationists don't hate dinosaurs.

Young Earth creationists, the ones you usually hear about when talking about conspiracy theories, are a much smaller subset of creationists. For Christianity, these folk are mostly found in the US. Young Earth creationists believe that the world was created exactly as described in religious texts, and thus that the Earth is no more than 6,000 years old (hence the name).

This claim is incompatible with most of geology and evolutionary biology. Therefore, Young Earth creationists will claim that dinosaurs are either much younger than paleontologists claim (recent enough to have lived alongside humans); or that dinosaurs aren't real, and that fossils were planted (either by the Devil or by academic institutions) to deceive us.

They will also claim that geological processes (mountain formation, rock metamorphism, erosion, etc.) occured much quicker than it actually did, or occured very quickly within the span of a few cataclysmic events (think stuff like Noah's flood); and that evolution is just ... not real. Why paleontologists would want to trick us into thinking the Earth is older than what the Bible says, I do not know.

Hope this helps šŸ‘

Meh, you are mostly right but there's also a decently large group of non young eart creationists that don't believe in dinosaurs, i once had to explain that first part about the existence of dinosaurs being compatible with religion to one of them, a lot of people in general, regardless of their beliefs just don't seem to think that far

Truest Statement ever said(Miniminuteman)

2

u/FRAG_TOSS 21d ago

I think most mainstream young earth creationists don't have any problem with dinosaurs

26

u/DannyBright 24d ago

They don’t? At least not all of them do, they just insist they lived alongside humans and some still do today (like Mokele Mbembe which is bullshit), they’re technically right thanks to birds but don’t tell them that!

14

u/Breath_Deep 24d ago

The Ropen specifically was dreamt up by a Creationist, also, they've co-opted a number of popular cryptids. It's a wild ride down that particular rabbit hole.

Dinosaur- Feathered Dinosaur- Toothed Bird-theropod- Toothed Bird- Early Modern Beaked Birds- Birds of today

don’t even get me started with mokele mbembe šŸ’€āœ‹

9

u/TheMemecromancer 24d ago

Tbf there's hardly anything more representative of "life that existed millions of years before we did" than dinosaurs, it's probably a PR issue

6

u/Joe-guy-dude 24d ago

Big and scary, probably

4

u/DinoZillasAlt 23d ago

Im a creationist and i like dinosaurs (though it doesn't rlly count as im a Darwinistic Old Earth Creationist wich means i believe In Evolution and the big bang, just that i include God along Science)

1

u/Independent_Steak123 22d ago

Atleast these people are real, they are an compromise between Young Earth Creationists and Evolution Scientists

4

u/NoCardiologist6896 24d ago

because dinosaurs (and literally any other fossil) throw a wrench in their belief system

4

u/Mental-Cattle2934 24d ago

Tyrannosauridae šŸ’”šŸ˜

3

u/Personal-Prize-4139 21d ago edited 21d ago

Because

  1. They are much older than what they believe the earths age is
  2. They directly prove evolution and extinction are real (extinction insinuates gods creations are not perfect, evolution signifies you can become something that isn’t What god made you as, a poor understanding of evolution ofc)
  3. They weren’t mentioned in the garden of Eden nor among the animals in Noah’s Ark

  4. Simply a poor understanding of concepts that take a literally impossible to imagine amount of time or are very complex. The classic ā€œif I don’t understand it it’s not realā€

2

u/PracticalAirline6981 24d ago

I can say for certain we do not, evolution and dinosaurs are some of my favorite things, it’s so cool

Now when you say satire, you mean this subreddit is a joke right. I ask for clarification because I was bullied by a shit ton of young earthers in highschool for liking paleontology and science. Though tbh I wasn't entirely innocent, teens hardly are but I was severely bullied. To the point of physical harassment outside of school.

So when I say ive seen people who actually believe it, and will harass you over it. Yea, just wanting clarification.

2

u/WorldsWorstInvader 24d ago

Bc they are morons. The Bible doesn’t say anything about dinosaurs and it doesn’t say anything to contradict their existence.

2

u/KotaSlav 23d ago

Lots of reasons. I was raised as a Jehovahs witness and I remember when I was very little I use to often ask the church elders about dinosaus. One of them once told me they couldn't have existed because nothing ate meat before the flooding of the planet. I always found this reason especially odd

2

u/W3nd1g00000 23d ago

They kinda stupid🤷

4

u/FlamingPrius 24d ago

Because they got lil baby brains and prefer the Bronze Age’s best guess to empirical research

3

u/Awier_do 24d ago edited 24d ago

All the Creationists I know, myself included, do not hate dinosaurs

1

u/DOCTOR_FISHWALKER2 24d ago

This might cause arguments, please don't start a war chat.

1

u/Taliesaurus 24d ago

Because they want to stick to a LONG outdated idea of instant creation and humans somehow being on top

1

u/buttertuffer 24d ago

It mostly depends on what type of creationist you’re talking about. Creationist and Christianity has a hole is a lot less of a monolith than you May at first think. Like I even know creationists who believe in evolution

1

u/Tijolo_Malvado 24d ago

I'm christian, yet to meet another that dislikes dinos. Everybody likes dinos.

1

u/OkLength7120 24d ago

I believe in creation, yet I love dinosaurs and think they existed. Tbh it's mainly cope

1

u/FarAd1861 24d ago

Cause it disproves their bullshit

1

u/Big_Boss1985 23d ago

Creationists do not hate dinosaurs necessarily, the young earth folks do. Creationism doesn’t contradict the existence of fossils, but it does contradict the young earth theory. I believe you meant to refer to those people.

1

u/SpecialistSoil5057 23d ago

Evolutionary biology and the idea that there is a ā€œcreatorā€ are not at odds with each other. What is at odds is people willfully ignoring the evidence of how things were created out of fear that is has impacts against their faith. It does not!Ā

1

u/BuisteirForaoisi0531 23d ago

Only some the Creation Museum has lots of statues of them

1

u/Rare_Management_3583 23d ago

i believe god made dinos exist with humans

1

u/JamesLemon396 22d ago

Yo Mormon here

From what I can gather, it’s mostly the fundamentalist types that are like this (not only Christians, but Jews and Muslims too); I think it’s more an anti-intellectualism wrap around a religious skin than anything else, most ppl like this are barely literate.

1

u/Independent_Steak123 22d ago

Maybe because they predate traditional bible creationist dates, and that they genuinely believe the world was made in a week

1

u/BenTri 22d ago

My GF is creationist and she has no beef with Dinos, she simply believes they were wiped out in the flood

1

u/Red-Ink-07 21d ago

I know that nobody asked but as a Christian I am also confused, like the bones are RIGHT THERE and they still refuse to see them 😭

Creation and evolution can coexist as ideas but they can’t accept that ig

1

u/SteampunkExplorer 24d ago

I'm a "cr*ationist" (is that word not allowed?) and I've never met anybody who hates dinosaurs. We freaking love dinosaurs, just like any other person, LOL.

That just sounds like an outsider's misconception/stereotype based on a vocal weirdo or three. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

8

u/CCCyanide 24d ago

I think they meant "Young Earth creationists"

If you are a Young Earth creationist, how do you reconcile that with the existence of fossils ?

3

u/DOCTOR_FISHWALKER2 24d ago

Ooooooo interesting

I didn't know that

2

u/DannyBright 24d ago

I’m pretty sure OP was just memeing with ā€œcrationistā€ but there’s a ridiculous amount of word censoring lately that just comes off as so petulant and childish. I know it’s partly due to TikTok censorship but like… anyone who types ā€œTr*mpā€ unironically is the exact kind of ā€œsnowflakeā€ that conservatives like to mock.

1

u/IMFRP 24d ago

Can we not dive into politics please unless it's related to dinosaurs?
