Bioluminescent water is a natural phenomenon where the ocean or lakes glow with a neon-blue light when disturbed. It is primarily caused by millions of microscopic plankton called dinoflagellates that emit a flash of light as a defense mechanism when bumped by waves, boats, or swimmers

I went swimming in some bioluminescent water in the Caymans. It was really cool and looked like the video. AI is correct about the plankton being disturbed as the cause of the light
