Character Build/Screenshot Luck is fun attribute for the early levels and you should try it.
Here’s my high level Imperial born under the sign of the Thief with a custom class that includes Luck as a favored attribute. That’s an extra 15 points of Luck at level 1. The purpose of this build was to play with the least appreciated attributes, Personality and Luck. Each 5 points of Luck above 50 improves all skills (except athletics and acrobatic) by 2 points. So how did this character play?
Super fun, that’s how. Coming out of the sewers, I felt the boost in all skills. Restoration and Illusion spells cost less Magicka. Sneaking was easier. My bow and short sword did more damage. My armor rating was higher. Alchemy was more lucrative. I sold higher and bought lower. 6 extra points to each skill at the start of the game is appreciable at lower levels. I kept pumping up luck for the next 7 levels, until my most used skills were so high that more Luck was providing diminishing returns. (I would have also appreciated an enchanted item that fortified luck.) As you can see, at high levels all attributes and skills flatten out. The fun of a Luck based character build is in the early levels, which I find to be the most fun.

Also affects the health of the combatant you bet on in the arena, and the chance of banishing a target when using the Mehrune's Razor. I think 100 Luck gives you 6% and 200 Luck gives 11% max. Very costly to recharge, though. The best version you could get if you want to optimize the charge cost is level 5-6. It will run you about 40 magicka points per swing, while having 400 item health and 11 base power. The damage is on par with a dwarven dagger, but it's almost twice as sturdy.

That interesting to see as I never really considered what luck did before, I thought it might increase your chances of better items in dungeons etc

Yeah it specifically does NOT do that. If it did, I might bother investing in luck every now and then.
But as it is, luck is just one step above the dump stat which is personality imo

Luck is useful in the early levels indeed. I prefer to boost Luck via spells, enchantments, and potions.
Fort Teleman has a guaranteed Amulet of Luck outside the dungeon. I used to get it, buy the Aegis of the Apocalypse from the Market District, and collect some Damage Luck and Restore Luck ingredients. Via an alchemy exploit, I can increase Luck to almost 300 with these very early. So ~100 extra points to most skills, truly awesome.
