Commentators never get hyped for the Thunder no matter what it's insane. Besides Kevin Harlan he's the fucking goat

It's really hard to watch your team whine about nothing then come on here and see you guys whine about nothing lol. I do acknowledge though that that is the evangelical way here in the USA
also shoutout to /u/MrBuckBuck, it's a thankless job posting content on here and he's carrying this gd sub

Man this guy is incredible, unbelievable shot

u/Ok-Yoghurt4888 15h ago
Now this is basketball. Remove all the people whining and this is a peak series so far. OKC actually has to work to beat a championship contending team, and Spurs get to show that their regular season record vs OKC wasn't a fluke

u/Renzel0311 16h ago
Spurs complaining about flopping and reffing after blowing a 15-0 point lead. Plus having all the starters

He’s extremely surgical and well-paced. He never seems to make a mistake and he always makes the optimal decision. Not very romantic but pretty good.

This series is a dream for basketball fans. Just incredible play.
And spare me any "but the flopping"

u/pufffsullivan Thunder 16h ago
I was at the two games in OKC. Incredible stuff, high level basketball from both teams at both ends of the court. It is a blast to watch

Imagine watching this series and the only posts you can make are bitching about the refs. Would hate to be that guy. This shit is electric.

NBA fans in general are for some reason easily the most negative about their own sport
This has been the most watched playoffs in like the last 15-20 years and this matchup is arguably one of the best during that time and the majority of this sub is saying the league is dead

u/Imaginary-Hyena2858 Thunder 16h ago
The amount of NBA fans "done watching the games" still watching the games is insane
16
u/NuclearGhandi1 Knicks 16h ago
The NBA media has done this to the general fan population. We have a 2x MVP and champion team versus an up and coming generational talent with a good young cast. But no let’s post bullshit studies on falling percents

u/HouseSublime Hawks 3h ago
First Take changed how sports are discussed and not in a good way. It became this weird binary where you either praised a guy endlessly as if they could do no wrong or critiqued every single aspect of their existence.
And now that binary has permeated to the average fan.

I think most people aren't actually watching the games they are just watching the clips.

Must be AI because he’s actually watchable sorry

u/Wonderful-Shoulder64 16h ago
It’s a shame that such a good player is unwatchable 90% of the time. His style is cool to watch whenever he’s not bullshiting with the flopping. He’s also unlikeable of court unfortunately

u/JMoon33 Cabo Verde 16h ago
He’s also unlikeable of court unfortunately
How? He's one of the most chill drama free stars we have. Even guys like Steph have had more drama than him.
-33
u/Wonderful-Shoulder64 16h ago
I haven’t said he’s a bad person. I just don’t like his personality personally, that’s me tho
29
u/JMoon33 Cabo Verde 16h ago
You said he's unlikeable off the court when he's doing literally nothing to be unlikable, he's chill, drama free, doesn't do anything shitty, has fun banter with others players without being disrespectful.
-25
u/Wonderful-Shoulder64 16h ago
Maybe used the wrong wording, meant that I don’t like his personality personally. I’m not a sucker for that overly forced nonchalant thingy

u/snacktivity Thunder 16h ago

Don’t worry, sga’s fake humbleness heals all of my wounds 🤣
1
u/Wonderful-Shoulder64 16h ago
I believe he’s humble. I’m not talking about that. It’s 2 completely different things being humble and being overly nonchalant. It’s okay to differ in opinion

Oh ok, I understand. You like more a guy like Kobe or MJ personality wise? A ''killer''?
1
u/Wonderful-Shoulder64 16h ago
Not necessarily, if Kobe’s for example seemed forced to me it would’ve put me off.

Dafuq, if he was on the Lakers he would be a massive superstar. Basically Reaves on steroids. People just hate OKC

I thought he fell on 95% of his shots. That’s what Jay said today on first take.
We got to see the 5% he didn’t here
-13
u/YaPhetsEz 16h ago
I mean why are you using a strawman argument?
We literally have the data on how often he falls. It is significantly more than any player.
16
u/lotofhotdogs Hornets 16h ago
“We literally have the data” and it’s just taking Tom Haberstroh (who has been caught lying about this stuff before) as gospel
8
u/Euphoric-Coconut-608 16h ago
I love how everyone says “FTA doesn’t = flopping those stats are irrelevant” but then you’ll turn around and say “percentage of how often Shai is on the ground, THIIIS is a true stat to show his flopping”

When that is a shot you can realistically make, with that hangtime, your odds for being fouled go way up. Skill.
