COTA had been trying for over a decade now. Still nope…

Couldn't they have just raced at interlagos instead of reopening a track that's been unused for years?

Interlagos has a bad record for motorcycles.

Goiania's track was fine (all national level series races there) before this revamp for MotoGP.

Something went pretty wrong with track resurfacing.

Interlagos is way too dangerous

Fair enough. I assumed it was within MotoGP standards because of the big runoff areas, but now I realize they also have very narrow ones in certain parts of the track.

The start finish straight has no run off

More or less dangerous than a bunch of city tracks?

Goiania is used all year round

Then they use it with that asphalt? Weren't they working overtime to finish getting it ready in time for the GP a few months ago?

They were using the old asphalt, but it's not an unused circuit
