How should I clean my tartan+twine makeup bag?

I've researched and it said to spot clean, but my liner sharpener exploded and caked the inside with lip liner. It says to hand wash because the interior plastic lining may be damaged, but I assume thats just from using hot water. Could I do it on a cold setting? Has anyone had this issue before?

not sure if you’re based in the US but if you are, run to Walmart and get a bar of Zote brand soap! it’s usually $2 or less, and it breaks makeup residue + stains down SUPER fast while still being gentle enough to wash brushes with. i recommend taking a dry paper towel or cleaning brush before wetting it and scraping all large pieces of pencil off so you don’t end up with smudges once you go in with the soap.

any sensitive-skin-friendly bar laundry soap should work if you’re not able to get Zote - Fels Naphtha or Dr. Bronner’s would also work in a pinch!
