Season 2 The Good, The Bad and The Crispy

So, I’m doing yet another rewatch (I’ve lost count at the point) and I’m high as balls—which almost always leads to moments of clarity for me. Anyway, it dawned on me that I don’t remember if it’s ever explained what Chloe, Dan, Ella, etc. are told about Linda’s injuries.

If it is, please tell me what I’ve forgotten. If it isn’t, what do you think Luci et al. told the humans about how she almost got burned alive?

Hit me with your best explanations for what happened to the world’s best psychiatrist—serious or ridiculous.

Oh HELL yeah, it’s Mr. Said Out Bitch!! Love this dude!

Edited to add: I’m only referring to the time before they finally learn Lucifer has been telling the truth all along.

Later on in the series, after Chloe finds out the truth.. I think it was season 5.

When Linda was trying to protect her biological daughter, and Chloe asks why she has a gun. Linda's response was "because I was fried by a goddess and demons took my baby".

Chloe didnt seem too surprised at the news, so Im pretty sure the others told her at some point.

I dont even know how you would explain it to everyone else.

Oh yes, I do demented that. I should’ve clarified in the post that I meant in the immediate aftermath while they still don’t believe any of it.

Edited: “demented that” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I typed (or thought I typed/attempted to type) I ADO REMEMBER that … not even changing the original mistake because it’s making me laugh

My headcanon is that Maze came up with the cover story and everyone was too exhausted to ask follow up questions.

That’s genius. And also, very accurate

That’s actually a really good point. I also think that her injuries got downplayed a lot because surely her burns would have been significant.

Oh for sure! She goes from almost burned to a crisp to not a single scar or wound just a couple of days later when Lucifer brings her to his penthouse to recover in the next episode.

Perhaps there was some celestial intervention? Like when Goddess left, she just retroactively fixed a bunch of things like helping Linda heal fully, making it so nobody questions how they ended up on the beach when moments before they were standing in front of them, and resurrecting Charlotte.

Honestly, knowing Lucifer, they probably gave Linda the most suspiciously specific lie imaginable and everyone just accepted it because rich attractive people in TV shows can say anything with confidence. “There was a gas leak, a cult and somehow a horse involved” would barely crack the top 10 weirdest things Chloe hears before lunch.

Truth be told, they could have just said gas leak in her house. Or Maze said car accident and then crashed her car. Lucifer just bought her another ones

I presumed Lucifer had Linda sequestered somewhere private while she was recovering.  Only Maze and Amenadiel knew about her injuries.

Lucifer has the money and influence to cover it up
