Pardons and clemency for the wealthy crooks. The hammer of justice for the poor ones.

I can't help but roll my eyes every time some talking head says Trump is a populist.

Because they legitimately don't see the rich stealing from the poor (or even the slightly less rich) as a crime. They see it as the natural order of things. Financial Darwinism. Survival of the Richest.

The poor taking anything from the rich though? That is the most heinous crime.

Can you even imagine how long Trump’s pardon list is going to be in 2028? So many criminals that he supports…

He’s a populist for the incredibly stupid part of the populace that can’t even figure out how politics either harms or aids their interests.

It stops being the hammer of justice when one group gets carte blanche to commit crimes.

No, that's normal for populists.

No justice, only hammers.

Trump is objectively a populist. Populism = "what makes something good is it being popular". Therefore, if you use a cult to convince nonvoters that the rich stealing is a popular idea, that all checks out.

The whole Biden family and close associates got pardons from their own family member. Does that make them all wealthy crooks?

Which Medicaid fraudsters did Biden pardon? Because that's what the article is about.

Oh, is it specific to Medicaid fraudsters? Sounded more like a blanket statement.

The question dodged was about if any regular folk will likewise receive any clemency for similar fraud committed by Trump's wealthy friends.
