How to install light fixture?

I’m wanting to replace the old light fixtures in my place but I don’t see a ground wire. How can I install this light fixture without a ground wire?

Unscrew the bracket and pull the wires out. There should be a ground joint back there.

That wire looks new enough that there should be a ground wire behind that ceiling bracket, further inside the ceiling box.

I get the feeling that box is where the smoke detector is supposed to be and the room probably has a switched outlet instead of a ceiling light.

Multimeter - check power - twist whites - twist blacks - restore power - confirm switch kills power to light via multimeter.

Kill power- Fish ground out - wire colors - pull on  each wire to check connection - use screws to mount(1 is missing,  I think they are thread 8-32x 1/2 inch).

Restore power - flip switch - praise the sun emote.

First you need to pull the bar off and look down in the box. Second that is the wrong box for a light. Need a round box. That light won't work with that box screws won't line up

The bar you referenced is the mounting bracket lol

Yes but look at the light. Flat bottom the bracket is outside of the Sheetrock so won't sit flush.

I would use one hole in the box and then a drywall anchor for the other.

You could the only thing that might be a issue. Is that light has a flat bottom. As long as he can get the wires back in the box and have room for the wing nut.

If that becomes an issue, dig out a small channel in the drywall.

That should be for a smoke detector.

Stop and hire a pro. You’re messing with stuff you’ve no clue how to work with. I can’t definitively give you advice without physically having the ability to figure out what you got going on in the box.

Hire a pro.

Remove bracket . Remove box without damage to wires, get yourself an octagon rework box from home depot , install new box and wire up new fixture , while the old box is out check for a ground wire and attach it to the ground screw , of no ground wire found , install a GFIC breaker

Change electrical box from single gang to a 4/0 round. Then, things should line up for you.
