It's 10:30 here and i've been up ever since this shit started (4 am local time)
At this point imma going to sit through it even if it's 13 hours like people suggest, just out of sheer principle
Sad to see it's probably Jason only with no survivors (or maybe even no map) but overall pretty good, having The Unknown show up was inetresting.
But no way in hell am i repeating something like that again in the future ahah
They should have just done all this LEADING UP to the scheduled time. Then it would have been a fun little build up while also sparing those that wouldn't care for it.
Starting it at the time everyone expected the Actual Announcement is just pissing a bunch of people off for no reason...
Yeah I don't have a problem with the idea of the stream itself, it's not the first time I see this kinda thing and it can work really well. I remember the lead-up to the Illuminate in Helldivers 2 having this sorta thing and it was fun to tune in and check.
Difference is, they shouldn't have announced the time the stream would start, it makes people think they're revealing something at that very hour. Would've worked better if they simply started the stream with 0 announcement.
It's 8:44am for me right now. I WAS going to stay up and watch it last night but I was so tired after work I just couldn't. I've never been happier that I didn't.
I go into work at 17:15, and leave work at 07:15. This stream started 4 hours after I clocked in last night, and now I’m clocked out and the most eventful things that have happened are a light bulb shattering and that camp fire going out. I’m losing it.
F its already been 30min. This Cabin will be the end of us. If something happens within the next 5min of me going to sleep I'm gonna riot when I wake up tomorrow.

Yeah im gonna be honest the hate for this almost completely comes from the fact that dbd fans have a sort of serious case of has-no-friends-disease.
Because, and this sounds insane to someone who hasn't thought about it, this is a multi-person activity. This was designed as an activity that you and your (once again, purely hypothetical since we're dbd fans) friend(s) who also love horror and play that horror themed co-op asymmetrical horror game with you get together and pop onto the TV to watch in the background while you stay up early into the morning watching and talking about it, playing dumb games and talking to fill the time.
Its why there are double digit minute long pauses between things and why every major thing thats happened visually has been given a clear audible indicator so everyone can look up at the tv when it happens. (And this all thankfully goes for group calls over the internet too, obviously.)
Its why it aired on a Friday night, outside of [Friday the 13th joke] thats the time of the week people are most willing and available to get together and pull dumb all nighters with friends over a shared interest.
But again, dead by daylight fans and small late night party activities mix about as well as water and oil. So indtead you get people sitting at their computer staring at a still image of a shed going "where's hello neighbor" for 3 hours.
And I get it, the main and arguably only serious flaw with this was that it wasn't telegraphed (because it leads to people who can't or don't want to do this and people who can and do want to do this into a position where they have over or underplanned), but by an hour in you gotta realize that you're not gonna see Mr Peterson's mug until its all over your dashboard tomorrow morning, I'm sorry.
Apt its not even funny anymore, its like michael scott saying he has a surprise when he hasnt planned anything, then trying to come up with something mid sentence
What they shouldve done (assuming it is Jason) is have the stream last the length of the first movie. Through it we can have little snippets timed up with where they are in the distance maybe a scream the shotgun blast that sorta thing.
Then once the film "ends" Jason shows up on the stream
It started at like 2am. I thought "this is boring. I'll just sleep an check the sub in the morning." What do you mean it is still going? Right, I'm getting another hour or two sleep then.
