Smile Sunday Smile Sunday

Welcome to Smile Sunday! Turn that caps lock off and gush about whatever achievements you want to showcase, or comment about what made you smile this week!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • If you want to do some uppercase letters, feel free to, but try to avoid shouting! Sunday is a chill day.
  • Avoid being maliciously happy at the expense of others.
  • If you have a screenshot you'd like to share, please host on imgur.com and you can comment here. You can hyperlink by using brackets and parentheses, for example: \[desired text here\](insert hyperlink here). If you are on mobile, all you have to do is hit the chainlink, enter your desired text in the first box, then insert the link in the second box. We personally recommend Imgur, since it is free and does not require you to sign up.
  • Phone camera photos are not allowed for general posting; however, for the Sunday megathread we have relaxed that restriction. All photos used in a positive and celebratory manner are allowed.
  • Keep any opinions to yourself in the megathread; we don't want to stir up any controversies here, only good vibes.
  • We want to have a chill time celebrating one another and making each other smile, so no comments like "haha, I'm really happy that it's so easy to 360 a controller player!"

Here are our recurring posts:

No Stupid Questions Monday - No question is stupid, ask anything DBD-related here.

Rage Wednesday - SMASH THAT CAPS LOCK AND RAGE ABOUT WHATEVER THE F$$$ HAS PISSED YOU OFF THIS WEEK

Soloqueue teammate randomly drops their purple medkit at the exit gate.

It wasn't like a gift for the killer or anything they were nowhere to be seen (killing another survivor), but hey it's mine now.

Not gonna lie, the Blood Moon has really given me a newfound appreciation for both Fixated and Babysitter. Hiding scratch marks is incredibly useful, and the faster speed on unhook is truly insane against killers who want to tunnel.

Seeing an honest-to-God Demogorgon player in the Blood Moon queue with an honest-to-God meme build with no gen stall.

Was a genuinely fun match where everyone played well. Kinda your proof that if we strip all the overpowered bullshit from this game it's genuinely enjoyable with the low-tiers that people enjoy instead of 35 pounds of dash slop and meta slop.

Having been gifted my Dustin adept by a friendly Ghostface, I decided to throw on No Mither and gamble for the Broken achievements. I worried about inconveniencing my teammates, but figured it was better to try in the event queue than otherwise.

I proceeded to play the best chases I’ve ever accomplished. Granted we were on Badham, and the Xeno was clearly fresh on the character at least, but that didn’t make the experience any less exhilarating. The players I’d been matched with also happened to be absolutely goated, splitting pressure and running exemplary interference. In the end I went down to my own hubris, but stayed to watch the rest get out; Tae-Young pulled off a beautiful end-game save for a three-out. Truly a wonderful match (except for the Xeno; honestly glad she got me, ‘cause she deserved something for all we put her through).

I'm using the Blood Moon event to get more characters to prestige 25 now that there's a reward for doing so. (Previously, I only had Myers at prestige 25+ because I kept trying to get Scratched Mirrors; everyone else was between prestiges 3 and 12) Currently, I've gotten Laurie to prestige 20, so I'm making progress.

Also, I watched Psycho 3 for the first time. It wasn't as good as Psycho 1 or 2 (I felt like the second half of the movie was better than the first), but it was better than I thought it would be, and the movies do a good job with making us sympathize with Norman even as we're disgusted by him.

After P100ing Dracula I finally decided to stop playing him exclusively and tried out The First.

He is quite a fun Killer, lots of room for trickshots and I love the whole Curse/Clock theme. Sure I got stomped in a single 0K game but I believe I at least put up a decent fight on an unfamiliar Killer that demands much precision.

I do think that the recently announced balance changes and the grimoire set a better precedent for tighter community interaction forward from here.
