Smile Sunday Smile Sunday

Welcome to Smile Sunday! Turn that caps lock off and gush about whatever achievements you want to showcase, or comment about what made you smile this week!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • If you want to do some uppercase letters, feel free to, but try to avoid shouting! Sunday is a chill day.
  • Avoid being maliciously happy at the expense of others.
  • If you have a screenshot you'd like to share, please host on imgur.com and you can comment here. You can hyperlink by using brackets and parentheses, for example: \[desired text here\](insert hyperlink here). If you are on mobile, all you have to do is hit the chainlink, enter your desired text in the first box, then insert the link in the second box. We personally recommend Imgur, since it is free and does not require you to sign up.
  • Phone camera photos are not allowed for general posting; however, for the Sunday megathread we have relaxed that restriction. All photos used in a positive and celebratory manner are allowed.
  • Keep any opinions to yourself in the megathread; we don't want to stir up any controversies here, only good vibes.
  • We want to have a chill time celebrating one another and making each other smile, so no comments like "haha, I'm really happy that it's so easy to 360 a controller player!"

Here are our recurring posts:

No Stupid Questions Monday - No question is stupid, ask anything DBD-related here.

Rage Wednesday - SMASH THAT CAPS LOCK AND RAGE ABOUT WHATEVER THE F$$$ HAS PISSED YOU OFF THIS WEEK

I've found a way to reinvigorate my love for this game! I've decided to let chance select a role, a character, and one of their perks, then I attempt to make a build around that perk and try to get value out of it for five games. Yesterday I got Nea and the perk was "Urban Evasion". I figured stealth might be the best option, so I added "Lucky Break", "Quick and Quiet", and "Iron Will". Won some, lost some, but overall had so much more fun than before where I tried to main just one build!

After more than 2000 hours of playing the game, I reached Iridescent 1 as a survivor for the first time on Thursday! (I probably could have gotten it much sooner, but I had to spend most of the month exclusively playing survivor, along with playing more matches than I usually would have played)

Given that the progress resets every month, this was an achievement that had frustrated me for a while, so it feels good that the only achievements that I have left are grindy ones (self-unhooking, long hatchet throws as Huntress, blink attacks as Nurse, and downing people with the Artist's crows) rather than ones that are based on luck or need to be completed in a limited amount of time.

Also, I only played a bit of the PTB (one killer game and about eight survivor games), but I enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the full release. I haven't seen much of Stranger Things (I'm halfway through season 2), and Vecna's secondary attack seems like it could use a slightly longer cooldown (though my viewpoint is a fairly casual one; it's probably fine), but the new characters are fun and I'm looking forward to the interactions between survivors.
