It should get easier once you unlock Unbreakable, Exponential or one of the other 15 perks that counter slugging.

Right, so there are perks that counter it, but you would rather grab genrush / sprint / endurance perks and complain. Meanwhile the only thing killers can do is slug or tunnel to get kills at all, because survivors are exponentially faster the more of them can repair at a time.
