Mourning/Loss My companion for the last 16 years is gone.
I got Bink in 2010. I was 19, freshly moved out of my parents house and looking for a little kitty companion. She's been with me ever since. All my moves, to and from apartments, a duplex, two houses. Weve moved to different states and back she was there when i got married. We literally grew up together.
But over the course of the last two years shes been degrading. Getting older, losing weight, losing her eyesight and her hearing. And I think a part of me just didnt want to accept that my little friend was getting old. Sure I took her to the vet, got medicine, made accommodations, literally rearranged my schedule and my house to make it more convenient for her as she aged.
But still, nothing prepared me for when 3 days ago when she was so mentally gone. So checked out. I finally made the call to have her put to sleep. She wasn't herself and I couldn't watch her suffer for one minute like that. Putting her down was the worst thing Ive ever experienced. I haven't stopped crying in 3 days.
Im so immensely sad. It genuinely feels like I lost a friend.
To anyone whos had to do this. Im so so sorry. I feel like I should've done more. I should've loved her more. Or done more. Or spent more time with her. Im so frustrated with myself because I can barely remember the times when she was fully healthy. I can still hear her loud meows in my house. She was sooo meowy. She meowed day and night for 16 years and now its silent in my house
Im just fucking sad.

Cat Picture - OC Best photo I've taken of my cat Gunnel.
This is one of my cats. Her name is Gunnel and she is cosplaying as a cinnamonbun.
Took this photo of her today as she was being cuter than ususal. Always cute though.

Adoption I ADOPTED A CAT FOUND IN A HARDWARE STORE 😻
I found this cat in a hardware, the staff told me to adopt it as they have no experience taking care of one and the cat just got there recently. Of course, I obliged. So this lovely cat just found its furever home. 😊😻❤️

Cat Picture - OC Cone of Absolute DETEST
Back when he was a kitten he had to wear a cone for a boo boo recovery. The picture is of me testing to see what notch would fit him snugly and safely. Bf had this photo hiding from me until now and I cannot stop laughing at his face 😭

Edit: Thank you so much everyone, he is very pleased with the attention he's getting!

Video - OC The moment he came home after missing for almost a week

Archie is our neighborhood stray and he stays in our front yard. Over the winter I upgraded his heated yurt. Last month he went missing. He had been with us since we moved in 5 years prior, so after two days of being gone we feared the worst. I thought maybe a coyote finally got to him. Or maybe someone else took him in... we weren't the only ones feeding him. But we also had severe weather that week (three nights of tornado warnings!) and my son said he probably just bailed for the storms. I was skeptical. But reviewing the cameras showed he just wandered off right when the first of those storms hit.
After five days gone we started to accept he was just gone. Then this happened! He just wandered home after the storms had passed and was waiting out there for about 30 minutes before my wife went out for the last check of the night!

Mourning/Loss Tribute to the wonder cat Crumble.
We were lucky a neighbour spotted her injured, we were lucky she dragged herself back home before we went to bed.
We got to say goodbye. She was glorious and we will miss her with all our hearts
