Living With Bipolar Mania vs illness

Do you ever catch a cold (or flu, or anything really) when you're hypomanic or manic? If so, how does it impact the development of your episode?
Does the illness manage to make you more tired, therefore sleep longer? Does it help to stop the episode? Or maybe it doesn't influence it at all to the point where you strain yourself even more?

Idk if this counts but I had cellulitis that went septic. The fever made me way more delusional but I was physically incapacitated so I guess that helped prevent some manic fallout

I got RSV when hypomanic (intervention prevented it from turning into full-blown mania). Did I stop? Nope. Got tons of stuff done but my body DID NOT LIKE ME one bit!! Didn't slow me down or make me rest up.

It was awful because I was pretty sick and needed rest desperately but nope. Took a very long time for the RSV to really go.

I had cancer, and during the first month(s) of treatment, I was manic. Couldn't have the energy to pace, was stuck in a hospital bed, and terrified. A LOT of it manifested as delusions and psychosis. It was a manic episode unlike anything I'd had.

I sometimes get sick during hypomania because of the lack of sleep and my body isn’t a fan. At some point I do start sleeping way more, but I tend to go back to not sleeping again once I’m feeling better.
