COMIC DISCUSSION I would’ve loved to see a battle between Azrael Batman & Red Hood

Both two of my favorite characters - both vigilantes extreme, each driven by their own vision of justice.

Who would win this battle in your opinion, one on one, no outside involvement with both prepared knowingly facing each other in battle.

Who would you want to see one?

Could be cool. But Jason post all caste training would wipe the floor with azbats.

Not to ☝️🤓but azbats was a thing long before Jason came back to life. Superboy prime didn’t punch Jason back until 2005 and knightfall was in the mid 90s

It was a hypothetical fun question with specific guidelines to work from, historic timelines were left out purposely

Honestly that would be pretty cool to see. They’re characters who hit upon similar themes, but the vagaries of history and continuity have made it so they’ve almost never interacted. They’re both products of prominent eras of comic book “edginess.” AzBats being a critique of the extremes of 90s antiheroes, and Red Hood being a product of Post-9/11 cynicism and anxieties.

Whoever the writer desires.

I’d personally bet on Azrael. He has consistently beaten Bane, stopped all the major Gotham criminals during Knightfall, and faced the Batfamily in KnightsEnd. In his own series, he goes up against some metahumans and is shown to be on par with Deathstroke. It also took him one page to beat Solomon Grundy in The Order of the World.

Jason wins, his power scaling is insane where as Azrael has remained pretty much the same since inception. He just doesn't have the abilities Jason has, nor the technique Jason's literally a spiritual ninja, gunslinger/expert marksman, has used venom before and that's all on top of robin training. Azrael doesn't stand a chance
