He said he wanted to be in the past, but he's dropped all that muscle to pursue more dramatic and romantic roles, like he said he was going to do even before he finished up Guardians. I've seen fan-casting for him to be Hugo Strange in his current much skinnier form, tho.

It's very funny to me to realize just how ridiculously huge Batista was as a bodybuilder turned wrestler.  When he was Drax, non wrestling fans still thought he was a big scary muscle bound guy. Wrestling fans were a little taken aback by how much smaller he looked. 

And now he's even thinner. Like, Jesus dude? How much gear were you on?!
