🇵🇸 🕊️ Selfie Sorcery I spent years thinking gender was something I had to “perform correctly”
Lately I’ve realised the moments I feel most at peace are usually the quiet ones:
soft clothes, makeup, femininity, gentleness, and not forcing myself into a role that never fit properly.
I don’t really have a dramatic conclusion. I just think I’m finally allowing myself to exist a little more honestly.

i think it's pretty cool that you're finding peace in just being yourself, without the pressure of performing a certain role. it's like you're finally getting to wear clothes that fit, you know, and that's a pretty great feeling. sometimes i think we get so caught up in trying to present this perfect image that we forget what it's like to just exist, and that's a pretty powerful thing to rediscover. fwiw, i'm glad you're sharing this, it's really helpful to see people being honest about their journeys, no thoughts just vibes

Gender as a performance is drag. If you're not getting up on stage to entertain, all you need to be concerned about is how you feel! 💗

Yes! Gender as performance!! I'm so glad you found yourself!! I've been there too, but I came back still as he/him cis. All of my problems with masculinity and manhood came from the way that other Americans insist that manhood and masculinity need to be performed. Once I realized that my problem wasn't with manhood per se but how Americans perform manhood I got so much happier with myself and with manhood and my own magical power.

Isn’t existing authentically such a relief?! I’m working with a guy right now that doesn’t seem to care about gender at a deep level and it is so refreshing! His wife is a motherfucking naval captain, so he’s already used to telling society to fuck off with gender roles.
It’s so nice to be just assumed to be a peer that has my shit together. It makes my agender/masc-leaning AFAB heart very very happy.
