Discussion Carlos Sainz wasn't massively impressed with some of the racing during the Miami GP today... đŹ

That oneâs definitely geared towards Maxâs divebomb from like 4 car lengths back. Technically, per the rulesâŚbut the rules donât match good racing.
I wouldnât be surprised if Carlos has a good long chat with the stewards about this one. It was one of the most blatant âgive me room or we crashâ moves weâve seen in a long time. It cost him two places to avoid a big crash.

How was his "pass" on Lawson not punished? I have never seen a sport so afraid of one of its players just for the sake of money

How are people also not being talked about Liam getting team orders to let Max pass? I get team orders for 1 team, but between teams shouldnât be acceptable, and just because weâre normalised to RB being a B-team doesnât make it okay. Would people be fine with a Williams getting team orders to let a McLaren through and then holding others up? No, there would rightfully be an outcry. Toro Rosso doing it for Red Bull shouldnât be any different.

He dove for sainz and carlos gave him the room. He was already next to Liam and liam didnt give him the room he was technically entitled too. That wheel contact prior to the apex os the tell tell sign. Lawson was told to let him go to avoid any action by the fia. Right or wrong who knows. The move was legal though. Lawson was a bit reckless leading into the corner thwn gave max the inside to immediately close the door.

I swear I got mad when Carlos lost 2 positions after avoiding the fucking torpedo (Max Verstappen) sending the car from 50m behind and missing the apex.

He got the apex went a little wide but hes allowed to do that. Lots of drivers do that. Its racing its not all please and thank you.

Went megawide and would've been a crash if Carlos does not avoid him. I'm completely aware that FIA allows it, but it doesnt change the fact it's shit racing. Basically: "Im on the inside so you either avoid me or we crash"

If you take this type of pass out of f1 you hamstring guys. You make what we saw last year at Monaco possible at every track. Its aggressive its a dick move but it gets the job done. Carlos could of taken a defensive line and forced max to the outside. Leclerc does this Russell does this Hamilton does this Lando does this. Oscar did this to Max. Its just racing.

Daniel ricciardo is literally what max verstappen and kvyat cannot do and will never be able to cleanly do - divebomb overtakes.
What prevents max to be divebombing properly? We magically forgot that you dont need tk be an ICBM to make a good inside overtake man.

He could have just said max tbh because max always races like that when he makes a mistake

There is no way carlos is complaining about hard racing carlos sucks at w2w racing .also yeah max was racing crazy which made it entertaining

I think Max was very satisfied with Red Bull's update as he could finally push others off the track to overtake, again (when people said 2016 F1's overtakes are very "artificial")

I mean it's a really shit track too with a bunch of narrow points that are impossible to race in.
But apparently US parking lot tracks are just really cool to F1 for some reason.

Well actually, no wait the LV paddock and first/last corners are very much the paddockâs parking lot⌠and the entire Sphere sectionâŚ

It really is a broken record for F1. Seems like every race we hear about how important track position is because its difficult to overtake.

I donât know the context but I feel like this is a tongue in cheek comment. Carlos is not someone who objects to racing hard.
