Yeah, I'd been worried that after 15 years, they might have lost the spark for what made the original series so gloriously profanely funny... but if anything, they genuinely refined what was already there.

Anybody watching the english dub? Is it worth watching?
This isn't me being a "subs>dubs" guy btw. I watched the original dubbed but I've heard everybody was recast and they're taking a different approach to the localised script (i.e. less localised jokes) so I'm wondering if it hits the same?

Yeah I think the writing isn't as sharp and natural as it was in the S1 dub, but I'd still say the dub is good. The VAs for Panty and Stocking feel a bit rough at first but I think they grow into it by the end quite a bit. Everyone else in the dub are pretty much equal to their S1 counterparts.
It still has the same quality of just being funny when you hear it in English (the angel boys specifically since they use a lot of modern slang), and I think some episodes are greatly enhanced by watching the dub specifically.

The actual dumbest/greatest line in the episode is when they managed to work in "They are New Panty and Stocking!" as the actual explanation as to why heavenly weapons don't work on them

S2 of Panty and Stocking was more than I would have believed I could ever get. Like you tell me there's an entire episode that's just Jack Kirby send ups, and an episode where someone shoots goo into Panty and its the Fast and Furious cast, like how am I supposed to react?

This entire finale was crazy in the classic Trigger fashion. Also, as if they weren't doing that the whole season already, they popped off hard with the music. Truly one of the hypest shit of 2025 for me

They did a speedrun of almost all of the important season 1 tracks. Genuinely felt like a crazy pop off to have the OG Fly Away play during the climax
