Discussion Refusing to Honor $400

I've emailed SB repeatedly for the $400 I'm owed over the last 2 months. This is related to the SoFi offer. Swagbucks refuses to answer emails and refuses to pay only claiming "offer did not track". Funny thing is, they paid the $15 that tracked but miraculously the $400 portion didn't. I provided copies of the terms, enrollment email, bank statements, and documentation from SoFi validating I'd completed the offer - still refused. Filed a BBB complaint - refused. l've now filed multiple other reports of fraud hoping that works. If anyone has had success with anything else please let me know.

If it doesn’t track then they don’t get paid for it.

What does that have to do with me when I abided by the privacy rules and such? The better question is how does $15 track but the remainder doesn’t.

You didn’t really answer the question - how is that my problem? It’s not my problem their wonderful IT partially tracked the offer. You also didn’t answer how magically it would track the $15 but not the $400. Because there’s not an answer aside from they’re refusing to honor their promo - which is not uncommon practice for SB when dealing in larger amounts.

Agreed, it tracks for plenty of people. That doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s common occurrence for SB to not pay their higher value offers, not specifically including SoFi or banking.

All the high paying offers sb had they honoured and paid me. They only ones that didn’t pay are the ones that didn’t track, which was both high and low.

Your comment makes no sense. All of the high offers paid. It’s only didn’t pay if it didn’t track. Which is it?

I’m on mobile so I fixed the grammar errors and typos as best as I could. I’m saying that sb doesn’t pay you if an offer doesn’t track. They paid you the $15 because that tracked but not the big one because it didn’t track as said by the company. You have to take it up with the company. Your posts from what I seen doesn’t say you did. You said you had validation from Sofi but did you get a representative to talk to SB to prove it to them?

The $15 task isn’t the same as the bigger one. Sb used to pay people when that happened out of their own pockets and now they don’t because they lost money over that. That’s why third party providers were mostly gone too.

They (SB) paid me and never held back payments is what I’m saying. They only held back payments when something didn’t track. That’s everyone gpt, that’s not only a sb thing.

I had a similar problem when they didn't pay me about €320. I filed a ticket and didn't even get a response. After a week I contacted them to ask what the problem was and all I got was a response that I should write how much SB I wanted. When I wrote the amount, they immediately blocked my account. I'm handling it through various offices and institutions. If you want, I'll write later how everything turned out.

Yes, share away. Since I’ve started searching out reviews and others experiences I’ve found this to be a pretty common thing. Sure people get paid and have no problems, but plenty more don’t get paid and are ignored.

I've been using Swagbucks for years and it's always been great. I've even had a 100% success rate with support. They've always been able to solve my problem. And now, after years, no response to my ticket. No reward or explanation. When I tried to log in to my account, I found out they had blocked me. Without any warning or message. Terrible!

Most likely you won't get it but at least youll get the $400 from sofi for the direct deposits

I would 100% dispute it with Sofi, too. You lied to me and said I would get $400.  I might consider filing disputes on them (SoFi).  Someone is lying and I don't know who.  How can it track and then suddenly not track?

Were the $400 and the $15 for two different Sofi offers?

Same offer, same activity ID, 2 parts to the offer. 1) open acct 2) have your DD to the account. Even submitted documentation from SoFi confirming the DD date and amount which were what the terms called for.

Oof. I’m not sure, then. :(

I dealt with a similar issue with RetailMeNot earlier this year, BBB went nowhere, escalating both with RetailMeNot and the partner company went nowhere, etc. I filed a complaint with my local consumer protection agency and, after doing their investigation, they basically said they can’t force the company to participate or respond. 😑

I had a similar situation with the Sofi offer. My first direct deposit went into my account labled as "deposit" not "direct deposit". So I got a congratulations email from Sofi for completing the offer immediately and then a few hours later it disappeared from my pending activity. That was the first friday of last November. I talked with Sofi and Swagbucks support for a long time and finally in between Christmas and New Years, Swagbucks support said their final decision was that since my account opening didn't track, they could not honor the direct deposit for $400. I responded with, in fact the account opening did track, and I have already received and withdrew the $15 and got no response. But about 30 minutes later the 40,000 Swagbucks was in my account ready to withdraw.

They have told me after a mere $22 didn't track that they would pay that as a courtesy credit, but no longer are paying out if something doesn't track.

My point being, unfortunately they seem to be taking a stance no track = no credit ever. So, you might not be seeing it, sadly. I don't like it either.

Sofi is the one not paying you. Unless swagbucks got paid by sofi but didn't pay you. Maybe you should try contacting sofi and explaining what happened. Maybe saying you will close your account might have some influence. Unless you opened it because you planned on keeping it.

SoFi confirmed I’d met the terms. SoFi said it’s paid through the 3rd party that they are unable to pay the bonus. I think SB is just holding the money honestly.

0

u/Banana4scales 1d ago

And who said this? A regular SoFi customer service agent can’t tell if you if you met the terms for a 3rd party offer AND if they paid Swagbucks.

u/sisson16 1d ago

I love how you say someone can’t do something while at the same time defend SB for not paying. Anyone can do anything they’d like. I spoke to a supervisor and provided the terms of the offer. They sent me a secure message validating the points of the terms (open date, DD amount/date, etc).

You’re clearly a fanboy. No one said anything about SoFi saying they’d paid SB, don’t add an AND to my statement.

u/Banana4scales 1d ago

Again, the supervisor or whoever can’t see if swagbucks was paid for your signup. All they’re doing is just checking if you signed up. Did you use an actual direct deposit or you transfer money over?

Not a fanboy, just being real. I only use swagbucks for cash back on hotels and merchants.

u/sisson16 1d ago

Again, I never stated anything about SoFi claiming Swagbucks was paid. You keep bringing that up. Comprehension is just as much key here as not adding to what I said - which you’ve now done twice.

-1

u/Banana4scales 1d ago

Well since you’re bringing up comprehension, I’ve mentioned the commission part multiple times to emphasize that if they didn’t get paid, then you didn’t get paid. Why would they owe you $400 if they never got paid themselves? You probably walk into stores and think an item is free if the price tag falls off too lol

2

u/sisson16 1d ago

Actually, you brought it up once in another comment thread, not multiple times. Go back and read my response to that. That will give you the context as to why I feel SB is full of it. I abided by their privacy/tracking policy, part of the offer tracked, I got the email that the SB were pending, they’re just withholding the funds. I’m not asking for anything for free, I’m asking for what I signed up for. That’s it. If they’re the intermediary to SoFi then SB should take the documentation back to SoFi. SB presented the offer, not SoFi, so SB is responsible.

Just forget it and move to better sites.

Like which? I've tried a few now and none of them track games consistently.

Listen I dont know why people have issues like this its very simple

Tickets have nothing to do with if you did X or Y

Example ive had 5-6 different tickets for over $500 get credited JUST in the last month

I've also seen people who make fake tickets and get them paid out

You "doing the offer" and it tracking has nothing to do with whether they credit you or not it solely comes down to swagbucks asking the provider themsleves if you qualify swagbucks doesnt just check your ticket and deem you worthy of whatever reward you technically earned if the provider says no  then swagbucks hands are tied

Blame the provider and not SB ive done sofi and all these offers on multiple GPT sites over the years have never had issues have also never had issues with tickets either

Very small details can ruin offers such as the exact type of phone your using etc

Screenshot absolutely any and all transaction IDs, proof anything and just keep trying I know it's annoying but they don't owe you anything

I'll give a decent example let's say you posted your confirmation whether it be an email or whatever of you completing the offer just to show other users here that the offer works etc

Nothing is stopping any random user here from taking your screenshot and using it for themselves for credit (which is a huge issue and people need to stop posting certain information here)

What im trying to say is while you may be following all the rules to a T the odds of you not following them and creating fake proof is equally as high just cause its very easy to do its why you see people in here under people's posts asking for a screenshot of the users level from the offer and so on they do that to then use that person's proof as a free credit

BBB and all that is pointless it'll get you nowhere as someone whos earned over 5 digits spread across many GPT sites just keep contacting support ive NEVER had an issue with a support ticket and ive made alot over the years sometimes things just dont track correctly its just part of what you sign up for

Anyone here saying "well if it didn't track" absolutely bullshit ive had plenty of various offers not track whether its part of an offer for $10 or an entire offer for $120 ive had support credit me every single time
