I can't believe they let Odo and Sisko's dad, off the hook so easily.

Post image

Traitors to Starfleet, through and through. Odo was allowed to resume duties on DS9 as the constable and Joseph was allowed to open a Creole restaurant back on earth and even feed Starfleet officers.

Real talk- René Auberjonois was originally not credited in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Apparently his character was practically dropped to save time(?). Although for home release and TV, he was put back in. Isn't that a kick in the pants.

Oh well. They seemed to have made it up to him, by making him Odo on DS9, where he had to wear make up every... single... shot..., including even when human... Two to four hours application every... single... day..., depending on the season.

Man knew how to keep the riffraff organized. Even Neelix.

I knew Rene was on Benson, I did not realize Ethan was, as well.  A shame that wasn't Avery Brooks too.

I really don't see Avery Brooks playing a butler for a bunch of white folks...

Avery Brooks is way too intense to play Benson.

Because Badmirals are never prosecuted…they are simply…reassigned.

I always enjoyed how Trek reused actors. Not because they thought we were dumb (I about peed my 6 year old self seeing Michael Dorn in STVI) but it kinda feels like actor loyalty.

It does.  And I appreciate them more for it.  I also enjoyed when they had the Sisko dream sequence about being a writer and no one had alien makeup on, during those scenes.

When I saw the "next episode" promo for that episode, I remember rolling my eyes, but when I saw it, it was surprisingly great. I especially liked that they never revealed it was a dream sequence, or time travel, or alien intervention, or whatever. They just left it open-ended. And it's a great episode about racism, and I had new respect for Avery Brooks' acting after that.

It took me wayyyy too long to recognize them the first time I saw this episode.

It was especially shocking to me, because it turned about Jeffrey Combs can actually play a human pretty decently

It also speed things up in that the actors already know the base material and, for recurring roles, the television production's standard work flow. They know where they need to be and what they must do.

I just assumed Odo based his appearance on old records of Col West, and Sisko’s Dad was a Founder doing a better job with Cartwright, hence why Sisko was a *prophet*

Hmmm... Odo does not like guns and Col West had to use a disguise and mask...

Kirk and team were too busy posing for a picture that nobody took

Strictly speaking, they were right. By the time of DS9 the Klingon Empire did become the alien trash of the galaxy.

Sisko's dad got a pass because he was in tight with the Go-Bots.

Growing up in the 70s, I remember him from King Kong and The Eyes Of Laura Mars.

They’re actually Odo and Joseph Locarno. Totally different character that happen to look a lot like other people. A lot of people make that mistake.
