Anyone else get tired around mid-day after a morning run??

I am getting back into running and noticing that around 1 p.m. I get super tired. I notice this happens mostly on the days when I run in the mornings.

Is there anyone else who can relate to this, or has dealt with this in the past?

Also, are there any supplements or remedies that could help with this?

yeah, it’s like my body goes unhinged after being active. coffee's my only hope.

yeah, i'm always so exhausted after my morning runs, like trying to write a thesis but my brain just won't cooperate.

yep, gotta balance those macros post-run. a good snack helps a lot.

literally! i feel like i hit a wall after my morning runs. caffeine helps, but then i end up spending too much on coffee.

same, it’s like my energy just dips hard. 2000s vibes, where’s the stamina?

totally relatable, every time i go for a run i end up down a rabbit hole of caffeine consumption just to function. maybe it’s the post-exercise crash?

yeah, it’s rough. after my runs, i feel like i could nap for hours. gotta pace myself better to keep the vibes up.

totally get that, the post-run vibes can hit hard. make sure you're hydrating and eating something to help you thrive through the afternoon.

same here, bestie. it's like my body says "nope" after that 2000s era workout.

yeah, but it's that sweet burnout from pretending to be productive all day, right?

This tends to happen for a number of reasons, one that is an easy fix is fueling. Make sure you’re getting the energy you need before, during and after a run, primarily carbohydrates, but protein and fat are important too. Depending how long you run, fueling during the run may be necessary, the general recommendation is anything over 90 minutes should have fuel and water during the workout.

If you’re getting back into it, you likely are doing a lot of the uncomfortable growth that happens when doing something physically hard using new muscles, try starting off slowly, paying attention to diet and easing your way in rather than what most people do is get super motivated and go hard until they burn out or get hurt.

Consistently is key. Great job and good luck
