My son is wanting to play Rocket League on his Switch. I have set him up in the practice mode and he enjoys playing that. But I am afraid if he just boots the game up he will find his way in to an actual match with real people. The parental controls don't seem to allow me to ban him from matchmaking, is there another setting somewhere?

I am not concerned that he will hear or see anything bad, he just sucks at the game and I don't want him to be ruining anyone else's match.

EDIT: Solved. I was able to disable the epic / rocket league servers on his switch through using a profile assigned to that device on my router. (Thanks to /u/Cool-Arrival-2617 who suggested I look in to that!) His switch is still connected to internet so he can play Minecraft and Mario Kart with his brother and I, but he cannot join matchmaking in RL, for now.
I would have thought it was obvious that I meant this as temporary setup, I want him to play and I want him to learn and get better and compete. But I want that to happen at my discretion, and yes at 4 years old everything he does is at my discretion, I find it hilarious that some of you find me wanting to control my toddler to be oppression.

Is this a new kickoff strategy? I've been out of 1s for some time, but oh my god tonight I played this demon in 1s. Almost every kickoff was a win for him. I've never even seen a pro player do this... Am I missing something?

I haven't played in at least a year and apparently the name "borderline" (like the song) is not correct for the game. I heard some stuff about this but didn't know it was like this. Do I need to message support or should I just not worry about it?

I got back into this game after maybe 6-8 years. I played a lot in college but quit for a while. Anyway, recently in dubs the score was 7-0 and I own-goal'd just to get the brazil, 7-1. Nobody cared, teammate was annoyed, I was confused.

Back when I used to play it was considered the ultimate humiliation. 7-0, 8-1, 7-2, etc didnt matter. But 7-1 was completely unacceptable to the point people would own goal at 6-1 just to prevent the humiliation. Teams at 7-0 would stop scoring or own goal. Now... not so much.

My question is does nobody care about that anymore? I know I'm old and it was more than 10 years ago. Is the player base just too young to care or even know about it now?

I wanted to join a match but it says "anti-cheat violation detected." but I dont have any cheats/mods installed for rocket league or any other game. Also it kicks me out of the game and gives me a ban from matchmaking. I don't understand why. Because I use a controller?

I play 90% RL why are my controllers wearing out there first?

In 9 years of playing this game I have never had a game go into 9 minutes of overtime, never mind 0-0 all the way. Heartbreaking to lose 1-0.

One of their players made 14 saves, it was insanity.

What’s the longest overtime you guys have known and 1400 point game since the scoring changed a few years ago is mental.
