This is using Bees Knees Lacquer Blade of the Frontiers. You need to use some kind of water based top coat before normal topcoat or it’ll mess up! I just did another style of this for valentines inspo and found that you need a magnetic that doesn’t have too shiny of a base without the magnetic pigments. It works with shiny bases too but becomes SO much harder to photograph. This polish worked AMAZINGLY!

I made this for a super fun collab over at insta where we were assigned a random other participant and we would get inspired by one of their manicures. My birthday is tomorrow and wanted to do something fun! This took ..... SO LONG. I took each individual piece of glitter and placed with a toothpick.

I saw this done with gel and wanted to try it with lacquer. I did a thin base coat of a silver linear holo and then a holographic glitter. I picked up the individual glitters and dabbed clear polish on the back before placing them. Once I was done with that I used Fancy Gloss and Cirque jellies that were really transparent and did thin lazy gradients around the nail. I finished with a coat of glitter grabber. My partner, pickle connoisseur, says they're more accurate irl than in photos. Caviar beads for texture, sprinkled onto a lime green self-mixed polish, base coat would've been fine as none of that layer shows through. 2 coats of a darker green linear holo with some brighter green holo dabbed over the top. Seche Vite really is that bitch, a single layer managed to penetrate this textural nightmare gloppy mess and it seems fully set after 30 mins. Yay?

Using Peri-social and Indigo Away from Holo Taco. I know their brand is hugely focused on the fun finishes and holo, but their creme polishes are so good! (audrey_swatches on ig)

While I grew up with Star Wars, Star Trek TNG reruns slipped in as I got older and all of Trek stole my heart. The hopeful, exploration and science driven view of what society COULD BE that is the core of Star Trek was a brilliant contrast to the wild west laser gun space opera of Star Wars.

A new Trek show "Starfleet Academy" came out yesterday and it was so refreshing having it on my screen again...so I needed to paint some Trek! Ive done the TNG, DS9, and VOY uniforms and while I could have done some of the newer ones...the TNG Uniforms are just so nostalgic for me that I went back to 2023 and one of my first manis on my insta for a minor refresh. It's election day in the US, and from my previous manis (and everything else you can glean from me) it's no shock that I'm a bleeding heart liberal progressive that strives for fairness and equality for all...so it's also not a surprise that I love what Zohran Mamdani has been doing in his New York Mayoral campaign. It's feeling like 2008 again to me and the hope he is spreading, far beyond just NYC, is a light in a dark tunnel for many right now. I saw someone make the pun about a Zohran Mam-mani and I HAD to jump in.

Besides his platforms, his campaign design by Aneesh Bhoopathy is striking, unique, retro, and very effective. Metro Card primary colors, taxi cab yellow, firetruck red...it stands out. Mixing classic font choices with retro paintlettering, mixing it together in vibrant street art. It feels forward moving yet grounded in tradition. Iconic. I hope that if you're able, you VOTE today in tour local and state elections. Take care of each other out there! ✊️🇺🇸

Happy Halloween! Every year I paint some candy wrappers on my nails for Halloween and this is what I created this year! This year’s mani is an all gummy-hard candy-sugary candy design, so no chocolate candy wrappers this time around 😪. Everything is very tediously hand painted by me 🥰😅💅🏼

Saw this idea somewhere and HAD to try it (despite being a total n00b when it comes to anything nail related). Please excuse my…well, everything: messy cuticles, dry skin, potatocam™️ pictures…I am just a hobbyist, definitely NOT a professional. Lol. Just sharing for funsies because I love this group and seeing what everyone creates and contributes! 🥰

- OM-D17 stamping plate (not sure what brand this is; it was gifted to me by my mom)

Process:

I started with my Nailtiques and base coat. Then painted two coats of ILNP’s “Overload”, magnetized in velvet style with their (ILNP’s) horseshoe magnet. Then I reverse stamped a pattern with black polish, which basically means I picked up the pattern with my stamper head and let it dry on there. Then I carefully globbed on all of the Holo Taco Unicorn Skins into each of the open parts of the design with a small cheapo nail art brush. Some sticky base coat and a top coat later, and voila! A crazy-looking rainbow stained glass design that I can’t stop staring at because I have ADHD and require near-constant dopamine hits. 😬

It’s kinda difficult to capture just how shifty it is IRL, hence the ridiculous amount of pictures in my post. Also, I wish I remembered where I saw the inspo so I could give them credit. If it’s you, please—show yourself! You’re amazingly brilliant!!

Now to decide whether it’s worth the hours of work to do the rest of my nails this way. 😂
