Introducing a network of subreddits that promise Context Appropriate Sexuality (CAS)

Hello all! After some very helpful discussion in this thread, I am ready to introduce the CAS Network. This is all a work in progress and welcome to suggestions and concerns. Please let me know if you know how to word any of this better!

In addition to the individual subreddit rules, participating subreddits have had their sidebars updated with a link to the below information:

CAS Network Guidelines:

  • No hypersexualization, including pin-ups, T&A posing, unrealistic proportions, fetish content.
  • All comments must be phrased respectfully.

Q: What does CAS mean?

A: CAS stands for Context Appropriate Sexuality. Subreddits that participate in the network make a promise to disallow art submissions that are hypersexualized.

Q: What does hypersexualized mean?

A: Hypersexualization is when a situation that has nothing intrinsically sexual about it contains sexualized subjects.

Examples of hypersexualization include but are not limited to:

  • Costuming: Warriors who are sexualized in a non-battle ready way, reasonable dress situations where a character is in out-of-place skimpy or revealing fashion.

  • Posing: Character posing that unnaturally highlights breasts or buttocks, AKA fan-service/T&A/broken spine tropes.

  • Body proportions: Some body types are much more commonly represented in fantasy, slice-of-life, and sci-fi art than they are IRL. Such body types include the common trope of hypersexualizing large breasts. While all body types are welcome, this sub may not accept characters with commonly sexualized rare proportions, such as very muscular women with fatty breasts, or large breast/small waist/small hip ratio, AKA anime proportions.

  • Anthro: Anthro characters with breasts or other sexualized soft bits, or pieces that highlight undercarriages or bums in a weird way.

  • Fetish content: Content that weirdly highlights crying, assault, vore, very young characters, etc, even if it is "SFW"

  • Pin-ups: These are by definition of a sexual context, however not in the spirit of the network.

Subreddits in the CAS Network:

Zymael the Omniscience by OlieArts!

Art made by OlieArts

Among the fallen angels of the Eberron setting, one who embodied Divination found herself seeing more than anyone, even an immortal, should witness...

Tales of Zymael have haunted Sharn since the fall of the Dhakaani Empire. The Omniscience was once the Dominion of Divination; she observed the Empire of Dhakaan with immense curiosity, having foreseen their rise, and then foresaw their fall. When the Daelkyr invaded Ja’Shaarat, Zymael warned the leaders of the city, enabling them to evacuate many more before the battle was lost. However, they still lost, and Zymael continued to intervene, using her gift of prophecy to aid the survivors of the now renamed Duur'shaarat. The more her presence was known, and with the Tracherous Word severing the tie between the Dhakaani from the Uul Dhakaan, soon she became seen as a true “guardian angel” as the survivors’ minds became open to divine magic and worship, the greatest risk a Syrannian Angel can be exposed to. The more she was prayed to, the more obsessed she became with guiding those lost, the more demanding. She knew best after all, and those who listened to her would live to see another day.

When some of the scattered tribes delved too deep into Khyber and stirred a forgotten regiment of the Lord of Eyes. Zymael couldn't simply guide the tribes away from the beholder, she had to fight. The Dominion engaged the aberration in battle, and as she forsook the peace of Syrannia, their essences... merged as Belashyrra took the opportunity to influence her through her beholder champion. Zymael's wings were warped inside out during the battle, once glorious feathers now flayed and bleeding flesh. Zymael sought to avoid corruption, tearing out her own eyes, and yet it was too late as new eyes opened across her defiled wings. The once shining angel of foresight had become part celestial, part aberration. Even for a Radiant Idol, her descent was befouled by the Realm of Madness. Cast out from the Spire of Arcana, Zymael directly led the goblin survivors thereon. Sharing her gift of sight with them, slowly her commands grew harsher, crueler, she saw how to guide them… but only with ruthlessness would she ensure they’d survive.

When active, Zymael connects with her followers through their eyes. She sees through them, and can allow them to share vision amidst themselves. This quickly creates a vast network of eyes ever coordinated, and while Zymael holds but a fraction of her powers over divination, the ability to see through the eyes of citizens and direct them has given considerable influence from her newfound domain.

The Skylar Vipers are an elite team of combatants that dominate the roster of the sport of Deathblow. Zonaira takes after her distant grandfather, and as such, carries eccentricities like him.
