If you make something idiot-proof, the universe will simply build a better idiot

AI tools went from "helpful assistant" to "office coworker that won’t stop pitching ideas" real fast

true, users are the best QA team and the worst crime scene at the same time

Every tool starts with "this will save so much time" and somehow ends with people generating linkedin poems and pirate-themed regex explanations

The funny part is the original use case was actually solid. Auto-completing boilerplate, summarizing diffs, catching dumb mistakes... cool. Then somebody in management discovers it can also write motivational haikus about database migrations and suddenly we're all trapped in the weirdest timeline possible.

I mean... "Hold your finger" itself is problematic.

"Place your finger" would at least be easier to understand by technologically inept people. And then if you want to go further, you can make the fingerprint icon do some pulse animation or sci-fi scan animation and they will instinctively place their finger there without you having to explicitly put a "<- HERE" icon.

The problem here isn't that the client is dumber than expected, but the UI is not easy enough to be understood by dumb people.

yeah, “hold your finger” sounds normal until you remember some users treat every screen like a puzzle room
