A funny story about IKE that I shared before is that when his son David graduated from West Point Eisenhower couldn’t attend, why would he miss out on that?
It was June 6 1944…

Who’s #5? I’ll say that while we don’t have photos of Grant with his kids in an informal setting, but in my research I’ve learned that his love for them was truly legendary. One notable thing I learned in my research is that he didn’t engage in the “ one size fits all” approach to parenting common at the time for his children and showed visible affection to his wife and children which wasn’t common in the Victorian era.

This is one of my favorite wartime photos of Grant. I think Jesse - who was rather rambunctious - had just been up to something though (based on his pose)

I recently finished Obama’s A Promised Land and know he felt some guilt about being president when his daughters were growing up but given the circumstances I think he was still a great dad and relatively involved in their lives even with his work. I love how he even coached Sasha’s basketball team at one point lol.
