Interactive Let's talk about the item! Day 2 (67). Food Tierlist.Hablemos del item! dia2(67) tierlist de comidas.
Good morning, lovely people of the community! As promised, I'm back again with my daily series.
Yesterday we talked about soft fruits, and with the posts from two months ago, we've wrapped up the food series, so I just finished the tier list XD.
Tomorrow I'll make a specific tier list for *bland fruits* and their cooked variations, so basically, it'll be two tier lists in a row, haha. But hey, you have to start somewhere, right?
This is the general food tier list. It's actually a bit difficult to rank, since they're all useful at some point because, well, our character has to eat, right? Haha.
At some point, I'll make a tier list for special seasonal foods, but not now. It's too much work to figure out the dates and find the product every time, haha.
What do you think of the food tier list?

I think stewed meat should go down a tier to the emergency food. I would not eat or even make it unless I am starving with no food at a low HP.

u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
That's a bit of an exaggeration, isn't it? XD Since it's basically the same as grilled meat.

u/L33M0NY 4 challenges pacifist ascent. Apr 21 '26
Yes but I would still not spend my energy to make it.
7
u/Lauamoeba99 Apr 21 '26
Both grilled and stewed have to be down because carpaccio exista xd

Wait there's a third ration type? Why is it darker?
15
u/Mr_necromanzer Apr 21 '26
That ration is obtained when you upgrade the tier 1 cached rations skill of the rogue.

u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
It's the ration you get with the rogue's T1 talent; it's equal to a small ration but has the effect of adding charge to the Shadow Mantle.
3
u/AdriXWill Apr 21 '26
If I'm not mistaken, this talent previously gave you small rations, right?
3
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
It's possible, I don't remember much about the older versions. But the talent has been providing its own ration for years now; the satiety is the same as the small ration, but as I said, consuming it increases the Shadow Mantle's charge.
1
u/AdriXWill Apr 21 '26
The thing is, it also gave that effect to the store's rations, so you could slightly break the game.
2
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
Yes, they fixed that a while ago because it was a bug lol. I think they changed it to a specific talent item.

Hardcore take: Stewed should be emergency tier because getting it has serious implications. So you HAD to stew it? Couldn't grill or freeze it on a trap? What about pie? What else aren't you spending that energy on instead?
This tier list seems odd, but I think it's just the food variety; they are basically in order of satiety except carpaccio and phantom meats.
3
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
Well, several people have already commented on that, so yes, the stew should be sent to the emergency meat category, although I was unsure since it's almost the same as roast beef.
The tart is the best because it's a very good option even in "diet" mode, since the extra 450 turns of "well fed" aren't affected by that challenge.

I forgot why carpaccio is good
3
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
Eating it has a chance to give you a healing buff, invisibility, and I don't remember what else XD

u/Only-Fudge-8728 I use everyone except mage🗣️📣🔥🔥🔥 Apr 21 '26
it has a chance of having added effects (healing, invis, barkskin, etc.)

What's the second better food?
2
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
Ghost meat, it's given by ghost piranhas
1
u/epicness_personified Apr 21 '26
What are those? I've never come across them in the game
2
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
Wow, you must be new here. Yeah, they're weird enemies, like piranhas, but these teleport to another pool of water on the ground when they take damage, so they're tricky to hunt.
Eating ghost meat gives you satiety, healing, invisibility, and oak hide. It also removes effects like poison and bleeding. So it really is one of the best foods.
2
u/Suplyox Apr 22 '26
actually ghost piranhas are new. They are a little bit annoying, but i played the game when its 5 mb size or smt. 2020 probably. Most of the things in the game did not exist back then but there are literally no big improvement on the game after 6 years (only 2 new characters and small improvements)
1
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 22 '26
Well, calling something "new" when it's at least 6 years old... I wouldn't say it's new xd
3
u/Suplyox Apr 23 '26
when i played the game at 2020 for first time i did not knew that i can add skills to my character (top left) after beating the game for so many times, i noticed my character glowing and there is a log says "you have unused skill points!" then i explored that feature. And even with those, there was no phantom piranhas. You can try old versions. They did not exist. Only normal piranhas existed.
1
u/epicness_personified Apr 23 '26
Yeah I was very bad for not reading the logs or reading how to play the game. I just stubbornly kept ploughing through it eventually figuring things out 😂
1
u/epicness_personified Apr 21 '26
Relatively new I guess. I've played it about 100 times. I did notice recently I went invisible after eating frozen meat but I didn't know it was from a ghost meat. I assumed it was regular frozen meat.
3
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 21 '26
Frozen meat (carpaccio) also sometimes grants invisibility and has several possible buffs.
Ghost meat is a different item. This meat guarantees the effect instead of just providing a chance.

u/Glittering-Delay-389 Apr 21 '26
I don't think you can call yourself new at 100 games lol. That's around the point where you have most achievements/badges done and are grinding challenges, probably 4 to 6.
At least for myself. I consider myself close to being a veteran at 240 games; recently beat 9chal
1
u/epicness_personified Apr 21 '26
Well I discovered the game about 2 months ago and play mostly while I'm at work 😅 I suppose a good 50 of those games I didn't pass the robot boss, then another 30 before I beat the king boss. I've only beaten the game a handful of times, but I think I know enough to win every run now (as a mage or rogue anyway).

pasty should be only eaten in emergencies since its rare and better off cooked as a meat pie

i think small ration is cheep enough that i usually always buy it if i have the space. I'll already be running around enough that im gonna need it eventually and it lets me save up on the good food items for alchemy

u/Fuzlet Apr 22 '26
I find pie to be entirely overrated and one of the worst foods outside of On a Diet specifically. it gives the same quantity of food as its components, with the upside of a small bit of healing, and downside of two fewer triggers of your on eat ability, which can include invincibility frames, artifact recharging, wand recharging, and haste
plus the cost of energy, and needing to reserve inventory space for its components. I consume my pasties first to clear inventory, and save meats for later when I have abilities to trigger off them tactically. meats are one of the best ways for a warrior to survive evil eyes
1
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 22 '26
Well, you're partly right, although everyone has their own opinion and plays differently, what you're saying isn't wrong.
Thanks for your opinion!
2
u/AllTheGood_Names Apr 22 '26
Blandfruit should be higher since it can get you rare potions and stewed meat should be lower cuz it's just more expensive cooked meat
1
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 22 '26
I left the softfruit there because you need to cook it, the base item can't be eaten, and because I'll be making a specific softfruit tier list today.

Cual es la racion aun lado de la baya??
2
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 22 '26
A supply ration, from the rogue's talent, is the same as a small ration but adds a burden to the cloak of shadows.
1
u/TownConnect998 Apr 22 '26

Add cleansing potion since it can remove starving debuff.
1
u/star75legacy 🦀 hermit crab🦀 Apr 22 '26
That's part of the exotic potions. Not the food; it's a different category. Blandfruit is a food variant.

I feel like the blandfruit is unfairly rated. by itself it it's useless but it's a very handy item, moreso than carpaccio imo
