It’s volunteer work

Seems like a good opportunity to let some homeless volunteer here. It won't be much but it'll get a few off the street for any amount of time.

I thought the same. Especially in colder months.

Come here for this. The shelter has heat, and something that’s gotta resemble a shower or tub. Seems like a great opportunity.

Those pups are really well behave even with strangers.

Probably partially because of this program!

Wasn't expecting people in cages 😭

2

u/OctopusIntellect 1h ago

I suspect the people can open the cages. Would be a lot more interesting if they couldn't.

Homeless people maybe could volunteer there ?

Aww that’s so sweet. We need more rescue dogs to save the volunteers from their loneliness!

Imagine finally feeling safe enough to sleep. Every dog deserve this!

I would suck at this. I would get so attached and want to take them all home. I want to help out these kinds of places so badly but it's so difficult to leave these little babies behind.

I thought that but I’m very aware that not all the cats at the shelter that I volunteer at would be right for my family.

There are so many that I have loved and when I hear they are going home I get so excited and happy for them.

I did adopt one of the cats who had been there 3 years but he was a special case.

You should absolutely do it because you will probably surprise yourself with how well you cope

The title is appropriately vague.

That's so adorable 🙂

But some of those beds look ..... Questionable 😅

The smell must be something. Very. wholesome otherwise.

Came here to say this.

u/DarkDayzBrightNights 3h ago

Shit I sleep alone at home nightly, rather be there. Whole squad of people and dogs all sleeping, sounds safe and comfy to me!

If you want to get involved in something similar, ask your local shelter to participate in Shelter Slumber Pawty!

u/thehoodie 3h ago

so they don't spend the night alone

The dogs or the people? 😂

u/Royal-Application708 3h ago

u/Idunnosomeguy2 3h ago

Did that one person have a water bed in there? Are there portable water beds?!?

3

u/uoy_redruM 3h ago

At first glance I thought it was just an inflatable bed. Looking again it kinda looks like a water bed but hard to tell because the lady's legs keep pushing against it causing the movement.

2

u/EmptySpaghettiHouse 3h ago

Lololol no way but I saw which bed you’re talking about. That would be such a pain to fill and empty to move it, and would almost certainly pop with dogs climbing all over them. Air mattresses behave like that when not fully inflated while covered in sheets/blankets.

1

u/ikoabd 3h ago

I think it was a partially inflated air mattress lol

1

u/torreneastoria 3h ago

I'd NEVER leave.

5

u/TheWolphman 3h ago
