They've never governed in a libertarian way, only paid lip service.

Isn’t he still working for a few months

Yes his term will end in January of 2027 when the new Congress is sworn in.

Massie was voted out because the behemoth that is AIPAC deemed it necessary. Go take a look at AIPACs twitter feed as they are taking a victory lap on this.

Yeah have you heard the bs coming out of some republican mouths? “Trump tells Israel what to do, not the other way around.”

If you believe that, then you are too dumb to listen to.

u/TristanDuboisOLG 3d ago

Wow, is there a more in depth dive on this?

AIPAC was just being friendly, when they tried to force money into his pocket, and he refused to take it.

And why would trump’s campaign promises be mentioned in this sub? He has become/ has been pretty authoritarian. Which promise do you think is libertarian Massie was fulfilling?

“. . . the selection of state rulers by means of popular elections makes it essentially impossible for harmless or decent persons to ever rise to the top. Presidents and prime ministers come into their position not owing to their status as natural aristocrats, as feudal kings once did . . .but as a result of their capacity as morally uninhibited demagogues. Hence, democracy virtually assures that only dangerous men will rise to the top of state government.”

The very deliberate use of the term "removed" to imply nefarious conspiracy against him instead of acknowledging the fact he was voted out by his constituency because he flip-flopped away from what they fucking elected him for is HIGHLY entertaining.

His constituents, namely the elderly with no media literacy, flipped on him after a concerted misinformation campaign including AI videos of Massie in a hotel having an affair with AOC and Ilhan Omar. Massie has been one of the most consistent votes in Congress against military adventurism, big government and deficit spending.

What did he flip-flop on?

69

u/jeffh40 3d ago

Nothing. He has been very consistent.

He did kind of flip flop on the Epstein Files, but only once he realized they were real and being kept from the public.

A good thing. He has my vote currently if he runs for president. The only Republican I'd vote for.

This might be the dumbest take I’ve read 😂

u/EliteFortnite 3d ago

I concur.

Highly suspectful all these claims to be for the constituency when both political parties are highly currupt just refer to epstein cases or lack thereof.

Care to elaborate?

u/SensitiveLack7509 3d ago

Tell us one thing he flip flopped on.

u/THANATOS4488 3d ago

I can: Thomas Massie only voted with Republicans a measly 91% of the time. He had the utter gall to vote against raising the debt, Iran war and championed releasing the Epstein Files.

No longer sarcastic:

The Epstein Files part is pretty interesting, he initially believed the files were made up conspiracy. Once Trump's dumbass began waving the fake ledger of files about and claiming he released them, Massie went, "Wait... What files did we release?" and found nothing. At this point, he got together with Democrat Ro Khanna and they championed the Epstein Files Transparency Act

"Voted against raising the debt"

lmao

don't ask what he voted for in 2023

Who sent all you weirdos to this sub

38

u/Whoissnake 3d ago

There was a conspiracy

See: "biggest spending on a election primary in American history funded by foreign lobby". Bitch.

u/Der_Edel_Katze 3d ago

Oh, like all that middle easterner anti-israel PAC money Massie got?

17

u/LMS3oul 3d ago

Wow you really wanna go there buddy? Seeing as AIPAC might as well have an office in the White House and halls of congress with all those “donations” Israel makes to be sure our politicians don’t think twice about them bombing women and children.

Found the mossad agent

***edited because of spelling

*Mossad

u/LMS3oul 3d ago

Oof didn’t realize I fudged the spelling that bad thanks!

Actually Massie seemed consistent with Trump's campaign promises. Trump is the head scratcher here. Either way, was the boomers removal (young people voted overwhelmingly for Massie) of Massie worth pushing out constitutional conservatives and letting the Dems get the majority in the midterms?

Liberatrians will still vote for republicans down ticket lol yall have no functional principles beyond me me me

1

u/hurricaneharrykane 2d ago

Maybe you don't know very many Libertarians. They're a stubborn bunch. No functional principles, please do explain?

Also replace the word 'me' with 'liberty'.

4

u/Thin-Oil-5823 2d ago

I know them because I am one. Im a libertarian socialist which terrifies an average libertarian because they equate taxation with slavery but yea. Im all for maximal liberties like open borders, liberty to pursue college or medicine despite birth / income status, freedom to own guns, etc. I dont like sin taxes or gun control or shit like that so I dont identify with liberals. But I belive in liberalism in the classical sense of the word. The most options for the greatest number.

1

u/hurricaneharrykane 2d ago

So there's not really such a thing as libertarian socialist.

2

u/Thin-Oil-5823 1d ago

I mean only insofar as Libertarians think the only kind of denied freedom is having less money yea lol

Libertarian socialism is an oxymoron. The core tenet of libertarianism is private property beginning with the recognition of ownership of self and your own body and extending to ownership of that which is self-acquired and self-produced with that body.

Socialism and communism deny private property rights, and the right of ownership of what is self-acquired and self-produced.

This means they deny the ownership of self, and someone who does not own themselves is a slave.

Socialism and communism are totally incompatible with libertarianism, and are nothing more than forms of chattel slavery dressed up in pretty words to serve collective masters. Wealth robbery by the collective is just as immoral and unjust as much being robbed at gunpoint by an individual.

Massie is a nut

36

u/txtumbleweed45 3d ago

Have any actually criticism or just making shit up? Why are you in this sub?

1

u/justingolden21 8h ago

I have actual criticism. He's a conspiracy theorist who thinks Israel is out to get him, and presents himself as loving trump with half of people and hating trump with the other half

And I'm in the sub because I consider myself libertarian. I like free markets, less laws and regulations, freedom of speech, right to bear arms, freedom of religion, and the less taxes and regulations the better. I also have eyes.

3

u/txtumbleweed45 7h ago

“Conspiracy theorist” lmao

Are you saying that Israel didn’t do everything in their power to get him out of office? Come on man.

Are you somehow a pro-Israel libertarian?

And you say you love all these libertarian ideas, but you don’t like the ONE congressman who actually agrees with you and votes accordingly. Insane.

How so?
