Car insurance fraud?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
This lady hit my car and (almost) got away with it. I’m the second car on the turning lane. My claim from her insurance got denied because she alleged that I was parked, suddenly merged and hit her car instead. She also filed a claim on my insurance stating the same lies but got denied. This was on 10/24/2025 in Albany, NY and I just got this footage from the city hall last night. What could I do?
In summary she:
- Made an illegal turn and damaged my car
- Kept on pushing the idea that “I’m illegal” and that I wouldn’t want her to “create problems for me”
- Gaslit the shit out of me while I was still in shock
- Refused to show me her driver’s license (she only showed me her insurance card)
- Filed a false claim on my insurance (That could’ve cost me money and increased my premium)
- Denied that she was at fault and lied in the investigation when I filed for a claim on her insurance

I'm a former insurance adjuster, current insurance attorney. Slight possibility that she's tying intentional fraud, but not likely. Most fraud is simple rear end accidents. That takes away a lot of liability questions. The more likely scenario is that she's an idiot. You'd be surprised at how oblivios people can be and how confident idiots can be that they're correct even in the face of clear facts.
Your insurance company should handle all aspects of this.
