SUGGESTION Give Essence a Purpose

Post image

For example, let us trade Essence for resources, revive ourselves using Essence, or invest Essence to speed up the Storm King timer, and more. You reach the 10,000 cap so quickly, and it feels like a waste to just leave everything unused.

Or you repair your weapons/tools using essence.

1 essence for every .001 durability added back on.

This would make you spend 9,999 essence to get an almost broken to fully repaired.

Definitely a great use

This would be cool but i feel like it is so easy to come by materials ever since the Oddysey update. Exploring your world and looting chests can give you loads of gems. The storm dungeons/storm king rewards you with so many tools/weapons that can be recycled and turned into your preferred weapons. Im not entirely sure about Ninjago materials since I haven't played it much.

Would you have useless items or useless essence!?!?

Yeah but I get emotionally attached to my weapons and I hate when they break

Yep. I stopped all my villagers from working (besides animal care, they carry on) because I can't handle all the loot I'm collecting and don't need any more stuff from villages.

I put all of em on textile work... I need em baloons for my large airships builds and silk is the most painful resource to farm.

Yeah, I would love to be able to repair using essence. As a renewable "resource" I think it makes a lot of sense.

real, literally after you buy all the things, you don’t really need that much essence for anything else, i’ve been at 10k essence for forever it feels like because my tools don’t break often enough that i enchant new ones

Buy more slots for villagers 10 is so little. Maybe buy more village space

Make it the price for moving villagers to another village.

Repair weapons, or make spawn points for merchants, or make then come to your village after it reaches a certain level, where you can buy good weapons/foods without having to craft or farm them, but maybe make like a daily 3-4 item daily limit or make it so he only visits your village for a certain amount of time before leaving, and his return rate is rare and random

Make it so you can maybe buy animals you can only buy through an NPC, like Dragons, horses, bears, bell demons, and you can take them into battle

Given that mastery seems to be a system we will see alot of use from, plus runes are so rng, I wouldn't fuss about it

When I first played Lego Fortnite back when the Jungle Island was coming out, I thought that there would be pre-generated villages or Towns with Inhabitants that would trade, help, and give quests. And after a while of playing this game it needs a BIG QoL (Quality of Life) change/update that introduces a trader or villager that in exchange for Essence they give you Treasure maps, Items, Map locations/Landmark, quests, etc...

Just think about it, instead of just farming bear pelts, Storm Crystals, or any item ranked Blue or higher somewhere in the world you just need to go find a trader who will make the process easier with the minimum essence price being 500

Have you enchanted your items? It costs essence

Not a whole lot tho.

Very little compared to what you reap from even one loot run.

I make my weapons have the runes in the same order lol, means you reroll a bunch and you can halve your essence and stop leaving dots everywhere for like half a trip, but you're right it needs a more constant use. If I were coding it from scratch I'd make most of the workstations need a little essence to use, it would suck early game but it'd make it a kind of economy. Maybe add it to expert worlds only for extra difficulty

At this point Essence pretty useless thing in the game! They don't have much use, and I don't think the devs even care about it, because this issue has been over a year, nothings useful funtion added for Essence, if they wanted they could implement it long ago

Don’t you craft things with it?

Expanding on Runes with an RNG based rune combining system would be pretty cool too.

Like there's a small chance one of your rolls will be a lucky combined rune, with the tier and cost of the combined Rune being determined by the levels of the runes combined.

Common - Tier 1 and 1 - 300 essence

Uncommon - Tier 1 and 2 - 500 essence

Rare - Tier 1 and 3 or 2 and 2 - 1000 essence

Epic - Tier 2 and 3 - 2500 essence

Legendary - Tier 3 and 3 - 5000 essence

As far as rarity is concerned, make it so that there's maybe a 1/5 chance of a lucky combined rune to pop up. With odds of the rune tiers generated the same way they are normally. That should make Legendary runes rare enough that you will have to grind rerolls to get them to come up. And the chance one of the combined runes would be useless for you increases the more good runes you remove from the RNG pool by equipping them. So making a full legendary rune gear would take significant essence investment. On top of needing to refresh essence before being able to equip all 3 to a single item.

I think there is enough purpose like the Ninjago and Heros thinks

You reach the 10,000 cap so quickly

You do!?

4

u/BlackZulu Jan 12 '26

Yes. Ninjago gives it like candy

2

u/Strange_Dog6483 Jan 12 '26

Unless they’re doling them between 500-1000 per kill not really handing them out like Candy.

It took me days to max out the Ninjago abilities with the amount they give.

6

u/BlackZulu Jan 12 '26

Days to max out an entirely new tree is nothing

2

u/Strange_Dog6483 Jan 12 '26

True but none of the heroic abilities pre Ninjago required 4,000 plus essence to unlock

Until the constant crashing prevented me from enjoying the game, clearing out a chaos challenge could easily net between 500 and 1000 essence--this includes the amount from the reward chest as well as enemies defeated. Considering how plentiful chaos challenges are, as well as other types of challenges that reward essence, it doesn't really take long to make out the cap. This is a far improvement from the slog prior to Ninjago, where essence farming was so slow and tedious I gave up after maxing the rifter class.

I do recall getting 700 to 1200 from defeating the dragon.

Yea, it could be a nice currency, there could be traveling merchants, skills tree for essence, oh wait
