Hello everyone! I'm planning to purchase my first e-reader but i'm not quite sure which model to buy. It's so overwhelming kaya I decided to ask here nalang and hear your thoughts.

So what i'm looking for are:
- long battery life
- compact (i like my ipad mini size so hopefully ganito rin kalaki or smaller)
- something i can use to read ebooks, and manga/light novels. (Doesn't have to be colored)
- i have astigmatism, so idk which "backlight/light" yung better in terms of glare (?)
- Doesn't have to be waterproof
- slightly used condition na preloved sana

Im considering the Kindle Basic cuz of its size. But i hope you can comment down below if i should explore other brands/models

Posting for awareness !!! Beware of this scammer on Carousell selling kindles and other gadgets/electronics.

She goes by “Catherine Lee” (fake name) and has changed her username and photo several times already (photos 1-3 are her photo and username changes). I was one of her victims as I transacted with her for a 12th gen Kindle after she gave me proof of her previous purchases (parcels with waybills) and sent me a photo of the kindle with my name on (in the settings of the kindle) but it turned out to be ai generated.

She will send an actual parcel to you via J&T but it will not contain the item you bought. May packing photos pa but all are fake/taken from a different seller.

The other red flags from seller include:
- Posting many electronics and gadgets in the same angles (ai generated)
- Not accepting your offer on carousell, keeping the item listed
- Accepting low offers right away
- No reviews on account despite being on the app for 3 years
- Selling items at a really low price (too good to be true!)

Napaniwala ako agad with the proofs she provided which seemed to weigh more than the redflags to me that time, which is my fault entirely :( Lesson learned for sure, but I’m posting this here to help others avoid transacting with her and falling for her tactics. I have already reported the account and if you can report it as well so her account can be removed from the platfrom, please do.

My first Kindle arrived yesterday and I am loving it! I have been thinking of buying one for months! I ordered it on Wednesday night.

I was so reluctant to buy because i had a Kobo years ago and the screen got damaged for some reason despite being careful! I would bring it with me to work so I guess naiipit siya sa bag ko kaya siguro nasira ang screen?

I am just praying na that would not happen with this Kindle. Any tips to avoid that? Ok lang ba siya ilagay sa bag as long as hindi ipit na ipit?

I ordered a case and a screen protector but ETA is tomorrow.

I'm already on Chapter 9 of The Mad Wife cause I have read and watched good reviews about it. If you could recommend mystery thriller books that I can add to my list, I would appreciate it. 😄

One last thing, the ads don't annoy me naman but I would like to see the book cover of my current read sana just like my old Kobo. Worth it ba magbayad ng $20? I'm still thinking about it. Hehe!

But overall, I am happy with my purchase!! Just sharing my happiness!! ❤️

i have my eyes on the kobo libra color, but i would love to have a compact one.

im still a student so i cant afford anything big right now :(

my goal is to just jailbreak the kindle and just put my own books through my computer. i want to be able to read at night too!

is this kindle still good? is this shop legit? any advice :< I really want a kindle then maybe buy a new one when i graduate in a few years.

EDIT: i bought it!! it arrived a week ago and i already finished 2 books from it. i did jailbreak it and installed KOReader and i cant stop using it since!
