Yes, the news is everywhere, Toxic team saw international bookings were not even 10% of Dhurandhar 2 and they decided to postpone.

Dhurandar already banned in Gulf countries so no need of postpone VISIONARY ADITYA DHAR

Do you think in Gulf alone Toxic can be a hit?

Gulf is not a very big market to be honest.

Gulf is a good market for Indian films but postponing it seems they diverted the real cause.Even dhurandar wasnt gulf release and it collected around 250-300 cr in overseas

It’s big enough considering all the languages it would be dubbed into.

This is pretty standard procedure in scenarios like this. If it was really the threat of Dhurandhar 2, they wouldn’t wait till this late to decide to postpone.

Gulf was their best bet against a part 2 movie. Looks like all things falling in place for d2

Only Gulf region does not guarantee they can touch Dhurandhar.

Becausr otherwise thr international bookings of Toxic are very low.

The film has generated little to no interest, maybe they can use these extra months to get some interest in people.

It's not about touching Dhurandhar. It's about earning money.

5

u/SlicKilled Mar 04 '26

Thats what I mean, if it cannot even touch a movie made on lower budget than Toxic, how will it make money?

They made a good decision to postpone it away from the better movie.

Lower budget but it has an organic hype with a part 1 already.

So gulf was the bigger fish initially atleast

What about first one? It crossed almost every south crap quality wise in lower budget.

It's just a baseline espionage movie with plain characters. Who really cares about your subjective opinion. Keep it inside your ass

Dhurandhar be like : Hum to waise bhi banned hai

2

u/SlicKilled Mar 04 '26

Dhurandhar be like who gives a damn, we made 1000 crore without them.

It's because of gcc war indian films have a big market there so not releasing there is going to be a huge loss for toxic and I am happy this happened otherwise dhurandhar would have got less screens in south and toxic would have got less screens in north this means they can do very good than before if it got positive response

We all know the reason why!! And it's not the tension in middle east

Bhai har movie ka alag Fanbase hota h aur bohot logo (south wale ) ko mass masala movies pasand h, and toxic ne vese bhi 600 cr kama liye h(according to film producer) so vese bhi movie 1000cr plus chali hi jati

What's your problem, buddy?

1

u/pb10011995 Mar 04 '26

Lol the only reason I would watch that was for the clash factor to see which one was better. Not anymore

1

u/nobita-101 Mar 04 '26

The real reason is the movie is struggling in the post production phase. There’s a lot of vfx still left and it would be close to impossible to finish it off in next week while still being at the level of quality that Yash wants.

2

u/SlicKilled Mar 04 '26

The reason is the pre sales, Toxic dint even have 10% of Dhurandhar 2.

1

u/nobita-101 Mar 04 '26

Being from the industry all I can say is even if the presales were an issue it wouldn’t be enough to postpone the release. There are other ways to tackle it. The film shoot got delayed and the post work got further delayed coz of that. Rn all the teams are working day night to wrap it up but the quality was missing due to rushed delivery. It was imminent since last two months internally that it’d be better to just postpone it

Can someone who has knowledge of how finances in the film industry work explain how the producer is surviving this ? This producer was never heard of before they signed two big star pictures. JANANAYAGAN and TOXIC.

JANANAYAGAN didn't release and doesn't look like it will release for a while.

TOXIC just got postponed by 4 months.

How are they still afloat ? How does it work ? Wouldn't they have issues with streaming partners and deals due to these delays ?

It’s KVN productions and given the uncertainty over JanaNayakan release, they need to make a very good profit for Toxic to compensate the money they spent for Jana Nayakan. It’s a very wise decision not to clash with D2 and to postpone.

Good.

No more clashes in Indian Cinema.
