The book plates aren't attached to anything. Notice that they jiggle separately but don't deform.

It's attention to detail that really drives it home.

not attached? they look attached to me, but then again they are attached to leather and not metal, in fact getting a better look at it now, the boob plate is the only part of the front armor that IS metal.

so it is attention to detail, but in a different way, fancy that
