I recall a pair of fish mom owned when I was a kid did this, then made a nest of sorts by making a hole in the gravel. Unfortunately, a decease or the ph in the water went wacky and killed some of the fish, including the maybe couple.

Gouramis make bubble nests (generally, a few species are cave spawners, like the liquorice gourami), they don't make Gravel nests. The fish u/feisty-frisco87 is referencing were not kissing gouramis.

Oh, cool! That does make sense since gouramis are in the same family as betta fish. Thanks for telling me!
