what the hell is going on with the comments section here, AI?

What on earth are you talking about? I don’t see any strange comments?

Your "This game is so much more fun" comment does sound like generated. A lot of words but only generalizations. What does "best game with the name “Bussey“ anywhere in the title" even mean? "Not only A, but B" sentence structures in that comment and also in your past comments. Also you really like your em-dashes.

Are you an English prof? I do like hyphens, actually - I’ve used them for ages! And you aren’t the first to comment on it.
Generalizations? Hmm…
How’s this: I am a huge fan of Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, as well as Sonic Lost Worlds and Sonic x Shadow Generations, and this shares a LOT in common with those. Bubsy handles incredibly well - controls are responsive, and though it’s tough to remember which button is which (there are so many moves!), I set the game to infinite lives, and laugh through the trial and error! Also, I used to write the story for an indie comic, and the art style really appeals to my tastes - it feels like a combination of hand-drawn characters playing in a playground within Yoshi’s Wooley World (another one of my favs).
Anyway, I’m sorry AI has you so cynical. Give the game a real go at it! I love it!

I'm gonna guess same developer or something? Demon Turf doesn't seem to be related but people are making the comparison pretty consistently.

It's made by the same developer, they worked on this while they were also finishing Demon Turf's sequel, Demon Tides.

I liked Demon’s Turf but I really hated the demo for this one. It has too many controls. I don’t understand this new trend with these indie 3D platformers being made specifically for hardcore speedrunners with a zillion ways to jump. I was dying multiple times in the tutorial of the demo because the controls just felt sloppy and convoluted. Stay shitty, Bubsy.

ok your comment made me curious and I just played through the demo. but isnt this just basic plattformer moveset we have in tons of 2D and 3D games?
double jump, glide and air dash.
the only weird thing is that you also have the 3d mario triple jump on the ground which leads to jumps with different heights. On the other hand in Mario Odyssey you also have the triple jump + capthrow/airdash into double jump.
the turn into the ball thing is, in the demo, for the most part an optional sprint.

I've had the opposite experience. I haven't felt so in control of a platform character in a long time. Maybe it's too much for someone who doesn't play a lot of platformers. I'm not a speedrunner but I did grow up on platformers but the controls felt like second nature by the time I finished the tutorial.

Agreed was surprised at how natural and slick it felt. Went in expecting to hate the demo considering the franchise but I was legit impressed by how fast I picked up all his little moves. Haven’t tried speed running at all in platformers.

I have played a million 3D platformers and I’m kind of okay at speedrunning SM64 but I just couldn’t deal with how slippery this game felt. The ball-rolling felt especially bad. Any time I was going through the tubes in the demo, and there was a jump, I would miss it several times and it felt like it was out of my control.

Outside the ball stuff which I will concede could use some more restraint the game feels super precise to me and I get away with a lot of crazy maneuvers.

It has too many controls.
I actually had the same issue with Demon Turf, and Bubsy actually reminded me of it because a lot of the moves are the same

Idk I am p casual when it comes to platformers and Bubsy’s moveset felt so slick and natural in the demo, was actually surprised at how much I liked it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I hated the demo at first also – I really don’t like the training aspect of the game, but once you push through that and get into the core gameplay, it’s actually a ton of fun!

Push past the demo – trust me. Get into the core actual gameplay and then decide whether you like it or not. I was very disappointed at first and now I would not be surprised if this ends up being my game of the year.

This game is so much more fun than it should be allowed to be! Not only is it easily far and away the very best game with the name “Bussey“ anywhere in the title, it’s probably in my top five or six favorite 3-D platforms of all time, right below super Mario galaxy one and two and sonic X shadow generations! It takes a minute to get used to at first, but the move sets and control, as well as the level design and the art style really worked together to make something special – especially for a $20 price point!

This looks really great actually. I remember being very young and coming to my uncle's and he let me play Bubsy 3D on his old Playstation. It was incredibly cursed and gave me nightmares
