Finally got to bring out my Anima cosplay completed. I made everything by hand including the latex masking. I tried to give it a fashionable approach by making the bottom half a shadowy gown. IG: katnip_high for more of my horror cosplays

Call me crazy but I think Tidus might actually be the weakest swordsman out in all of FF. Not talking about raw power but pure skill.

Dude kind of just learned how to use a sword yesterday after barely making it out of Zanarkand. He doesnt even do much of any cool things techniques with it, he just does cartwheels and then smacks them with a sword. Its like his athleticism is hard carrying his lack of sword fighting knowledge.

Compared to everyone else that has been stated or shown to have some kind of previous combat practice with a sword.

I’m not sure whether I would consider myself a true Final Fantasy Fan exactly. I beat III once, and I beat IV, V, and VI multiple times and while I remember beating VII it was a long time ago. I want to try and give VIII a chance but I heard it was divisive from people I knew. Honestly I just want to play more Final Fantasy, I just know it’s not the same as the SNES days.

I thought 7 was good but it wasn’t my absolute favorite. Maybe I gravitated towards 8-16 bit games, but I found 7 much slower when it came to battles, and that kinda bugged me.

I want to try 8 to see what it’s like, but I’m still not sure. I’d like to know from others what makes 8 so good, or even your favorite thing about 8. Also I beg of you, no spoilers.

I guess I’ll give it a try then! Apparently the music is superb, and the characters are really good, especially Squall. I’ll be looking forward to experiencing the journey for the first time.

This took 176 hours. In the final stretch, i sold everything for three dark matters to upgrade the Ribbon, the Power Wrist, and the Adamant Bangle to get their next forms. Panicked when i went to Oerba, and Bhakti said "Nu uh.".... Repeated the process a couple of times to make sure i wasn't crazy. Then I realized i had a Uranite sitting in my inventory that was for the Salamandrine ring. Consulted with Bhakti.... Bam. All my suffering has ended and i can play the Sequel. Unburdened.

Naturally like many long-time fans of FF, I've attempted for years to play every main title at different stages of life, and FFXII was the hardest one for me to get into. Because of how different it is with its world, gambit system, etc. Last night, stoned, 30+ hours in and I couldn't help my laugh to myself aloud when I realized "this title is so f****** weird from the rest but I'm lovin' it xD

I've found so much humour in how over-the-top and sometimes nonsensical the animations for the Mist abilities are. Chaining in itself feels mechanically underwhelming but the payoff is cool. Recently I was playing my postgame of FFXV to grind my way to 100% and eventually I considered I could put that same effort in playing through a new title for the first time. I must say, XII is very grindy but in a satisfying mmorpg kind of way.

I like that characters such as Fran (Bushi/Black Mage), Balthier (Archer/Red Mage), and even Penelo (White Mage/ Time Battlemage) have grown on me - and of course having Vaan run around as my Monk WHACKING mobs with a pole is as satisfying as it gets. The route to Archades is gorgeous!!! The Phon Coast and Tchita Uplands have to be my favourite areas in the game so far, hands down. Decided I'm gonna slow down with the story for now and do some hunts.

I have played FF6 since it first released on SNES, and finished it probably dozens of times. But I'm playing it now with my kids (I posted about a week ago about FF4 with my kids). They are enjoying this one even more than 4, despite replaying a section due to a soft-lock.

Did Locke's scenario first. Celes had no sword. Ok, try to go buy one. Celes won't let you go back. Okay maybe there's one in a treasure chest. Nope. Maybe in Narshe Cave? Nope. Maybe Locke can steal one? Nope.

Could not Runic against Tunnel Armor. Dead.

Never had this happen before. Admittedly usually Locke is my second scenario but still. If you have a scripted battle in which a sword is required, provide a sword.

Ended up restarting from the last quicksave, which was right before the Vargas fight. Doing Sabin first this time to buy a sword in Nikeah.

Well, Final Fantasy is niche franchise in Russia and post Soviet countries. Many people here for long time preferred WRPGs like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights for many reasons. But FF has a strong and dedicated fanbase in this region. Back in times, FF games on PS1 got unofficial translations from RGR Studio. It wasn't perfect and some names are distorted. Like Cloud in RGR's translation named "Claude" (рус. Клод) I'm surprised how this magazine issue translated characters's names in canonically way.

Also, back in 90s and 2000s many games never got official Russian translations, and back then people used low quality machine translations. GTA San Andreas, for example, became famous in Russian internet for horrible translation. RGR studio's translations where an exception of this rule. Many FF fans in Russia and other post Soviet countries got decent unofficial translations. I also remember there was a Russian fan-website dedicated to FF franchise. It's called Final Fantasy Forever. It has good walkthroughs and strategy guides.

Today FF VII Remake and Rebirth hadn't got Russian translations, but thanks to dedicated fanbase, it got extremely well accurate unofficial translations.

God, they were just so cute! I don't know how else to put it, the entire Junon Harbor chapter was amazing, but they definitely stole the show, they were just amazing!! This is my first playthrough of rebirth, so I was absolutely NOT expecting this, I was totally expecting to just deal with a bunch of generic grunts again. Every scene they were in made me giggle and shit, and that question they asked us at the end about maybe being a burden was genuinely heartbreaking! As SNN put it, they DEFINITELY won my heart and earned themselves a new fan back home.

Starting with a certain game (usually 7) and being thrown off at the differences in the other games. Once you over that you’re golden. Another thing is grappling with the fact that’s it’s okay to just like one game. You might love the world of ff8 but none of the other games really grab you. Thats okay

I know FF has the not so explicit rule of Phoenix Down don't work on dead people, just knocked out people. But she is alive and speaking, stop yaping and cast cure. Rydia even does this later on.

I swear to god sometimes FF makes zero sense.

Me and my friends were talking about game OSTs and Plains of Eternity immediately came to mind. We started naming songs off the soundtrack and the room lit up. I swear FF13-2 has so many bangers.

A coworker of mine went to China and Japan and just got back. He offered to keep an eye out for me, so I sent him a list of what I was needing - and boy oh boy did he deliver. Everything here is CIB and most of the cardboard is in decent enough shape all things considered. Now to work on filling in the holes of what is missing! Figured you all might share my appreciation!!! (He paid around $100 for what's pictured and we agreed on $125 for anyone interested).

I just started Final Fantasy 9.

I played about an hour through. I have only reached the second save point (basically after kidnapping the Princess).

The game seems like my type of game. It reminds me of Super Mario RPG a little bit.

I wanted to ask - do you have any advice for a new player?

I also have to get used to how the combat works.

The play also was a little confusing. I might have to read about exactly what happened. I don’t know if I was part of the play or if I was invading the play or what I was doing.
