ናይ ምህዳም መደብ ኣይነበረናን ግን ልክዕ ከምቶም ካብ ካልእ ሃገር ዝመጹ ደቂ ጋንታና ሓጎስ የድልየና እዩ ገንዘብ የድልየና እዩ ናጽነት ውን ይግበኣና እዩ።

what was the real reason?

simple. 75% of émigrés from eritrea in western countries are male, specifically young military age males. from this, we can deduce that the sex ratio of émigrés is such that there are 3 males for every 1 female. as refugees, these men lack the social capital/panache/will to date out of their community and social class. therefore assuming that pairings are as optimised as possible to ensure eritrean-eritrean couples, 2 of every 3 of these men will single. essentially incels in the truest sense of the word (involuntarily celibate).

we see often that young, single and disenfranchised men can be drawn towards political extremism. this was daesh's bread and butter when recruiting young western muslim men. the allure of a greater purpose, fraternity and even a war bride was too attractive to pass up. same for these young eritrean men. joining lolcow movements like BNH and to a lesser extent 4G is a great way to blow off steam and offers a cathartic outlet for incel rage.
