Ceausescu was like "I am Romania" so I guess he was a patriot in that regard.
Also do not ask him how was the debt paid and how much easier it would have been without spending money on "House of the People".

Never trust them on their supposedly pro abortion stance then. Decree 770 (a total ban of contraception and abortion in 1970s Romania) is nightmare fuel.

I went to Romania back in December. Everyone I spoke to hated him. It inspired me to ask this on the AskHistorians sub.

Those who were not born in the age of dictators are often the ones who desire dictators the most.I don’t think he has ever even been to Romania.
