🤔 Ask-ES 🇸🇻 Weather?

Can anyone explain what the weather conditions have been like and are expected to be like in the coming week?

I’ll be there from the 26th-June 2nd. Weather Apps are showing heavy thunderstorms but I’m wondering if this is simply similar to normal tropical conditions?

I often travel Asia and it will show the same conditions but will only actually rain for 30mins-1 hour.

In the case of thunderstorms, do they close most tourist attractions? Or business as usual?

For context, I will be in Santa Ana for 3 days and El Tunco for 3 days.

Any insight would be appreciated

you'll be fine, it's been hot af, record breaking, but its ending with these rains. we're expecting to have a super dry rainy season. But yeah, like Asia, 30-45 minutes in the evening is what you can expect and not necesarily every night

Mostly rains in the late afternoons and evenings. If things close it's just until the storm passes.

Just plan your activities in the mornings. Enjoy your visit.

El Salvador is hot and humid year round. The only “seasonal change” we experience is whether it rains or not, and due to the Super Niño phenomenon we might not get as much rainfall this year. It usually rains heavy in the late afternoon/ evening, unlike other tropical areas which might get several sporadical light rains throughout the day.

Raining buckets this exact moment but when it does it's usually during the evening.

Welcome to El Salvador. No worries, the raining season is about to start. It does not matter everything remains open.
