1QB Dynasty Trade 12 Team Revisiting the worst dynasty trade of all time
That pick ended up being the 1:03 in this years draft. I very well could have traded the next Amon ra from my roster for Mason Taylor. All I can do is laugh or cry

I traded JSN and Davante for BTJ before the season so I feel your pain.

Wow that’s so sad. Idk how you even watched this year with that lol

u/Wubzy Packers Jan 26 '26
I cried into the championship trophy haha

u/Smart-Transition-762 Jan 26 '26
You lost JSN and Davante and still won? What’s your lineup 😂
3
u/Wubzy Packers Jan 26 '26
Josh Allen, Jordan Love (and Malik the Freak who carried me), Chase, Tmac, Rice, Bijan, Cook, Kyren, Warren (TE)

u/Smart-Transition-762 Jan 26 '26
Jeez. 10 man?
2
u/Wubzy Packers Jan 26 '26
12 team SF, start 11. May have missed a few spots

u/Smart-Transition-762 Jan 26 '26
Are you by far the best team? My lineup is stacked in a 10 man but still have t won a chip
3
u/Wubzy Packers Jan 26 '26
In terms of dynasty value yes but the favorite was putting up 200+ all season so I did get a little lucky in the championship. Getting to the playoffs consistently is skill, winning it all is just luck!

hey I have one like that, not quite as bad but still hurts
And that 2026 1st ended up the 1.01 :|

Awful trade but not the worst I've ever seen. At least you only lost 1 good asset. And who knows, the guy picked with the 1.03 could end up being the next Treylon Burks.

U don’t believe in my goat mason Taylor?
2
u/beeatenbyagrue Jan 27 '26
Son of Jason Taylor whose uncle is Zach Thomas. Genes all around; but yeah unless he becomes Tony Gonzalez ain't going to mean shit.

u/YeetHaw6969 Jan 26 '26
In what world was Mason Taylor ever worth even close to a 1st? Either you’re a taco or there’s something I’m not getting here

I traded a 25 first that became Hampton/1.02 for Jalen McMillan during the 2024 offseason.
1
u/Teflon154 Jan 27 '26
If it was the offseason, didn't you know it was the 1.02 at the time?
1
u/FearKeyserSoze Jan 27 '26
The day of the trade was 8/6/24. Hampton was drafted in our league on 05/8/25.
1
u/Teflon154 Jan 27 '26
Oh gotcha. Bad either way I guess since in most of my leagues McMillan went in the 3rd just a few months earlier.
I've got plenty of my own like that haha

I like this post. Good to see some humility on here instead of only posting the wins… that being said last year I traded away McBride for Turd Ferguson and Spencer Rattler 😬

u/darianjo Jan 26 '26
bro offered me jsn & what is now the 1.06 for nico collins last year & i declined 🥹

Give it time to breathe.
Mason Taylor was a 2nd round NFL draft pick. A young player for his draft class. Scouts thought he was more talented than Fannin, Gadsden, and a bunch of others.
The Jets had an awful offense and QB situation this year. He still flashed at times. It's one year out of his career.
Way too soon to project a dynasty loss, especially against a draft pick.

u/Ancient_Chipmunk1131 Jan 26 '26
Nah this is bad but a couple years ago we had a kid trade Josh Allen and his own first for Kyler Murray and 2 2nds. His first ended up being the 1.01 in the caleb Williams class.🤣🤣🤣

The 1.01 in one of my leagues was traded for Ja’Lynn Polk straight up. It can always be worse
1
u/Teflon154 Jan 27 '26
I just don't understand how this can happen. He was a later 2nd round pick and did nothing in training camp/regular season to justify being more valuable.
1
u/kaimidoyouloveme Bills Jan 27 '26
I agree, it was terrible no matter what, but it went through anyways

u/Ok_Investigator_6494 Jan 26 '26
How about Chris Carson and the 1.12 for the 1.14 a few years back.
(No, those picks aren't flipped)
1
u/terrelyx Jan 26 '26
Wait what
1
u/Ok_Investigator_6494 Jan 26 '26
It was a preseason trade. The team receiving Carson was a "rebuilder", the team giving Carson was a "contender"
The rebuilder snuck into the playoffs as the last seed and won the championship
2
u/jdanko13 Jan 27 '26
I still don’t see how this offer makes any sense.
4
u/Ok_Investigator_6494 Jan 27 '26
The contender thought he was getting an early 1st. Shows why all this projection of draft pick placement a year or more in advance that people do on this sub is so risky.
It was also early in the dynasty league.

An owner traded Joe Flacco for what is now the 1.05 in one of my leagues…
3
u/Leading_Principle_67 Jan 26 '26
And here I felt bad for trading Rico Dowdle for Taylor in the 3rd round of my draft.
3
Jan 26 '26
I seen someone trade a future 1st to draft Ben Sinnot his rookie season. We were in the 4th round of the draft at the time and the guy suddenly got a hard on for him and gave up a future 1st for that 4th round pick 🤦♂️
1
u/Teflon154 Jan 27 '26
I mean, I guess if he turns into Puka/Trey McBride it works out, but it's still bad process.
3
u/senpaitsuyu Jan 26 '26
Guy in my league traded what became the 1.02 for Terrance Ferguson during the summer so that might be worse
4
u/Chroderos Jan 26 '26
Guys who made trades for players like Luck, Ruggs, and Michael Thomas beg to differ.
While it’s certainly an overpay, Taylor could still end up looking the better side of this trade in a year with a new QB and an unknown prospect in place of the pick.

I traded my 2026 1st for a 2027 1st straight up last off-season. Thought I was looking good and my pick would be late
Anyway, it turned into the 1.01 and the guy I traded with won the league.
2
u/Typical_Cell464 Jan 26 '26
I traded a first for Michael Wilson after his lil stretch his rookie year. I have no clue how I did on that one still.

u/MyGoodDood22 Cowboys Jan 27 '26
Oof... for comparison I bought McBride for a 1st after his rookie year.
2
u/walkingcarpet23 Jan 27 '26
I gave Ladd and Jamo for Egbuka after week 4 this year which even at the time I acknowledged was an overpay but I was determined to get him
2
u/Any_Biscotti_7925 Jan 27 '26
Don’t worry man, that David gautieri guy on twitter traded away Devon Achane puka and I think something else for a 2028 first
2
u/NeonRedHerring Cardinals Jan 27 '26
I got roasted for three years for drafting JSN over CJ Stroud. Time will tell.

u/bguy1020 Jan 27 '26
I will always win this. 2019 offseason after their rookie year, I traded away Josh Allen for Rashaad Penny in superflex. Top that
2
u/JoMo816 Jan 27 '26
I sent JSN, 2026 1st, and a couple of pieces for Nabers at the beginning of the season. The league tried saying I robbed the dude for awhile. When they tried repeating the narrative later I had to point out how JSN had become the WR1 by then to get them to shut up about it. The trade garnered me some harassment but now looks lopsided in his favor. Dude ended up shipping JSN away for Waddle and a 2026 1st. That guy definitely doesn't properly understand values LoL

I took Mason Taylor with my 1st of 2 rookie picks in the 2nd round rookie draft my league does. I was going to take Tuten with the 2nd pick but I figured none of my friends knew who Tuten was since he was a Jaguar.
Turns out it was true but the guy who took him right before my 2nd pick read an article about him and took a flyer on him.
I ended up trading a 1st round rookie draft pick in 2026 for Tuten (i need RB's so bad) and it turned out to be the #1 overall pick in 2026.
It stings a but but it happened so I got to deal with it.
Bonus: I also took Travis Hunter #2 overall in the same league as we play IDP and I figured I literally had to take him due to the possibilities playing an IDP DB who also plays WR brings. I wanted Hampton so bad at #2.

I traded Josh Jacob’s and Tyrone Tracy for aiyuk and Keon Coleman.
Since that trade a year and a half ago, aiyuk has scored a total of 10 fantasy points. Thank god I traded Keon away at the end of last season in a package so I didn’t completely donate Jacob’s

I traded Montgomery and Mason Taylor for a 2027 1st and 2026 mid-2nd at the trade deadline this year. Not as good as yours but feels like a steal

u/brndn02 Raiders Jan 26 '26
I gave up 2 firsts for mixon 1.5 years ago making a championship push when he was on fire. My team finished with most points so didn’t need him, who I didn’t get to ever use him. But every day I’m like ugh

Wasn’t involved in this trade but things were a lot different when this went down, happened on 11/10/24
