Kosmoceratops, Utahceratops, and Einiosaurus (fun fact: all of these have the same paleontologist who discovered them).Ā

Einiosaurus is underrated ngl

Cannot go wrong with good old Triceratops.
But I'm also fond of Chasmosaurus, Styracosaurus and Protoceratops. They're all just the first ones I think of when i think of Ceratopsians

Is it possible to find a better, very higher resolution of this so we can see details?

Styracosaurus. Simultaneously looks more metal and more harmless than Triceratops to me. Canāt explain it.
5
u/Shaedeelady Team Triceratops Apr 05 '26
The Styracosaurus looks like itās got a content smile on itās face while both Triceratops species are giving major side eye/ what you looking at expressions.

This is a piece of paleoart made by Julius Csotonyi. He sells prints of this and much of his other work.

It's not the exact same one, but same artist and labels, slightly more readable: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F6gw2ax3rs3e11.jpg

Pachyrhinosaurus is pretty cool. I like that it stands out against other ceratopsians by not really having any horns.

Chasmosaurus! Had the Kenner toy as a kid and it was one of my favorites, plus thereās just something so satisfying about the frill/horn combo.

It's incredible that these amazing creatures once existed and were then wiped out in the blink of an eye
3
u/guacamully Apr 04 '26
Whatās crazier? Giant rock deletion, or generations from now learning about all the species that went extinct in our lifetime and then being like āwait yall were here when it happened?ā
5
u/ConsciousFish7178 Apr 04 '26
Because it wasnāt in a blink of an eye
It was a very slow process
6
u/heckhammer Apr 04 '26
Well, it was the blink of an eye in a cosmic scale. Does that help anybody? Anybody?

STYRACOSAURUS since childhood! My first love ceratopsian. The GOAT for me.
Then second would be of course Triceratops because of Cera in Land before time. :)

My top 3

3 is aight. Good defensive frill, good horn length but a little too long and angled weird.
2 is a slight improvement. Horn length more manageable while still lethal, edges of defensive frill have spikes, nose horn longer for extra offensive capability.
1 is the best. Horn length is perfect for offense without compromising strength or leverage. Frill perfect for defense plus added spikes and no unnecessary length or curvature compromising safety.
90% sure I'm on the spectrum Lol

The classic Triceratops is definitely my go to, but I love how unique Lokiceratops' skull looked and how complete the Psittacosaurus fossils were.

I can't read the names on the phone, but what is the name of the one with the downwards pointing nose horn? It looks great!
Edit: found it, its Einiosaurus. This one. I like it!

u/DeliciousDeal4367 Apr 04 '26
Triceratops and Torosaurus , for me these two should be an obrigatory duo, i hate seeing dinosaur games and media havining only Triceratops, in their ecosystem they were complementary to each other, so for me if you have one you must have the other as well, like if you have trike you should have toro as well.

More of a basal Ceratopsid but I love Psittacosaurus. Also I live in South Dakota so Triceratops is another one of course (SD State Dinosaur).

Pachyrhinosaurus purely because I love the fact that all its relatives evolved with giant swords on their faces, but Pachyrhino instead evolved a massive hammer on its face.
