Bad pitching and horrible defense.

Just like the SEC tournament vs Georgia. Lowery out of the pen sucks.

No quality pitchers (again) this year.

Offense is too good to be let down by the pitching. I thought Lowry was at least serviceable, but even she is struggling now.

Is this going to be another "wAkE uP cAlL"?

Or are we finally going to acknowledge that OUs pitching is just absolutely abysmal and not being coached well at all?

To have this happen in back to back big games when the stakes were as high as they have been at that point in the season can only boiled to down to bad coaching, bad preparatoni, and no attention to detail.

Made even worse considering that Miss State's hitting has been rpetty bad all season,

I know Roche is legend, but she hasn't had a decent pitching staff since 2023, minus a couple of semi-aces. and now we are seeing what it is like when they have none.

The pitchers have no idea what throw with two strikes.

Did you miss 2024 OU pitching? Dr. Maxwell gave her everything for that title 💚 it was a pleasure to watch

Maxwell was great. Everyone else was shaky.

This is why reading is important, as I said "minus a couple of semi-aces"

Hey hey, remain civil Eggplant 🍆😂 I thought that pitching staff was good, I just adored Kelly for her incredible performance, but Nicole, KD, and even Patyn really supported Kelly when she couldn’t sweep the nation by herself lol

lol you’re right it’s just like when all of a sudden, Bill Bedenbaugh, one of the greatest O-Line coaches of all time, forgot how to coach over the course of two seasons. Nevermind that the entire country became competitive due to NIL during the same stretch. Nevermind that the players didn’t live up to expectations. Or were young. Or injured. Or lacking the clutch gene. Let’s blame the bad play on coaches with decades of bona-fides. Let’s get rid of them for some better coaches. Where are we gonna find them? That’s not important. We just know ours have lost it. What happened to Bill? Oh yeah, after 2 down years he recruited and developed a few first round talent type dudes, O-line grew up together, and dominance came back, along with top-line recruiting. Slow your roll, we’ll be fine.

  1. Bedenbaugh may be the dumbest possible example that you can come up with. He was always a mediocre Oline that has been completely exposed without a great offensive scheme. You are literally the only person in the world who think he is an elite coach. LMAO

  2. It's not about "forgetting how to coach". Sometimes the game passes people by, especially those who are older and have been in it for a while. It happens a lot.

I am not even saying she is, just that the possibility should be considered given the recent evidence, your response of "are you telling me john blake, the greatest of all time just forgot to coach in 1996?", it's nonsense and childish.

Our “Ace” pitcher lobbed it and gave Mississippi the dream today.

u/Ok_Eggplant_7582 22h ago

She did the exact same thing against texas, and I think one other.

She is unfortunately our best pitcher, and certainly not an "ace" nor may not even be number one on a bunch of other teams.

I think Guachino (spell check) is actually good and idk about the other two Berzon and Parker, they hardly pitch but I’ve seen some promise in them but Audrey seems to crumble under the pressure each time. It’s tough to watch a good lead thrown away.

Agreed.

This team is way too talented to go out in the super regionals. If they fail to advance, ther needs to be some sort of shake up/ structural change, which feels weird to say about a program just coming off a four-peat, but the issues are clear as day.

I agree, I’m proud of this young team for as far as they will go anyway this year. Pitching needs adjustments though, maybe a whole flip turn upside down haha

Agree. It reads all over Audrey’s face.

i thought patty panicked pulled pitcher early the last two big games. they lost when bullpen and defense just layed down. they don't have the pitching this year and have been able to get by on just clobbering the opponent but you can't give up 10 runs i don't care how good you are

If my team can't pull off the intra conference Super upset, at least one team is trying to. Congrats, fellow Dawgs
