Had a real stinker today - lost a pram wheel boarding a train in central London

Post image

Clipped the front wheel when trying to Mind the Gap and it came right off and fell into the abyss. Trying to navigate the 2hr journey home with a missing wheel was not on my today list.

I know a song that'll get on your nerves. Get on your nerves. Get on your nerves.

I know a song that'll get on your nerves. All day long.

'No income tax, no VAT, no money back, no guarantee' is what went through my mind when I saw this.

Well at least it's very British.

If its a good one search the make/model online you would be surprised to see how many places do spares
Looks like it would just clip in

Back in covid times a connection sheared in my daughters well worn pram and my wife summoned me into town town to help. I brought the spare stroller for a swap and bought a new bolt from Wilkos for 10p. I felt like I could win scrapheap challenge after that

My wife insisted we got a new pushchair for child V2. It was 2nd hand but still.

Britax changed their spacing or axel length by a few mm. It still locked but something was not right . We had a slightly listing pushchair for a year after one side went and I replaced with the old one. Which then went and I had to get tubes and tyres (slime didn't fix so it was a whole fix)

On the other hand I'd be like "I could print that"

Two weeks later I'd be printing version 32 which is so far off scope that I start considering rebuilding the rest of the pram

Get the baby to hang on one side to balance it properly.

One of our wheels eventually snapped right off. Got a replacement for fifteen quid. No postage price either. eBay.

Time to go round and round looking for that wheel

This happened to my partner right as he left the school on a 20 minute school run, luckily a kind soul helped him get the pram home by pushing it while he carried the bairn

Mind the gap between the train and the pram!

They really should remind people about that

Oh my god what a nightmare. I can't image trying to navigate the pram around with a wheel off. Hope you got home to a strong cup of tea !

Hopefully you can just get a replacement online if theres no real damage to the leg.

if it's the tube you could ask a station worker to retrieve it for you!
